I’m back everybody! I had a great week at camp, but now I have returned to continue the battle against our foe. Thanks for taking over for me @karthmin.

Confession time. After reading the Hangouts chat for the war yesterday, I was fully expecting this post to be a “We fought hard but it looks like we won’t make a submission this month, and that’s alright.” But I just finished reading the doc and guys… it’s really good. The first draft is rough and needs a lot of editing, and it is very much not a conventional mystery. Given our record of not fitting the prompt (aka being too creative for our own good), I am not sure we can win, but I am confident we can get a good story out. There is a full first draft in the doc and part of a second draft. If need be I can combine the first and second draft and do some rough editing, but we can do more than that. We can put out a really good story.

We have pulled out way too many last-minute stories and that is something I will try to work on, but for this month, let’s pull this together. It doesn’t matter how good of a writer you are. The war is about working together and filling in where others are weak. If you are stuck on a description, write [Description here] and move on. If you think something seems off but you can’t tell how to fix it, make a comment and let others finish the thought you started. Keep the momentum going. We need as many eyes on this thing as we can get.
