Write a story where you bring out the beauty of something ordinary in the middle of a very dramatic setting.

So… we need to decide our setting and premise. Today, if possible, so @seekjustice can start writing tomorrow. Seekjustice, you said you had an idea you wanted to flesh out. Is that ready? @filewriter also came up with some good premises. (And filewriter, if you also want to write this month, then that is 110% fine. Just don’t feel like you have too. If you want to participate more I can verbally elbow you at editing time if you would like.) Here are his two ideas.

• One roughly historical / fantasy in an Arabian / Sinai desert type environment. A scribe is wandering the desert along with a guide, and they are running out of water. There is more information on this premise here. (I’m not sure it fulfills the prompt, but it would depend on how it is written. This feels like the focus is on the wandering of the scribe than the water. But I have no idea how I would write this prompt so maybe I’m being unrealistically nitpicky.)
• The other set in World War II, following two German soldiers separated from their unit looking for shelter in a blizzard. They are looking for light/fire/heat.

Then seekjustice’s idea was about following a bird to water.

Please let me know y’all’s opinions. If you want to discuss it more, we can discuss it in the chat, or you can respond in the forums, but the important thing is I would like us to have a decision by tonight if possible. If not, it’s not the end of the world. Last month we were behind schedule and it turned out amazing. Go Erekdale!
