Hello Ereki!

If you could PLEASE TAKE A FEW MINUTES TO READ THIS, there’s some cool and important information here 😉

The other Guildmasters and I had a meeting a few evenings ago to go over the feedback from the survey you guys filled out, talk some things over, and brainstorm ideas for making the guilds even more awesome than they already are. Below are some key points and news for you guys:

 

1. We’re focusing on making the guilds more active. One of the goals for the guilds is to have them be small groups of tight-knit writers, something different than you’d find on a regular forum. If you’re just active once every other month, that’s not really creating such a tight-knit group. I love having you all in the guild, but if you can’t make time for it, there’s always the awesome forum. Guild space is limited.

So, over the next couple weeks I’m going to be seeing who’s active and who isn’t. Those who aren’t will be removed. DON’T WORRY. I’ll contact you directly before that happens, and if you want to rejoin the guilds later, you can reapply.

What does it mean to be active in the guild? Participation at least once a week. But that is a bit subjective. If you’re going on vacation or have a busy month, just let me know and you’re fine. Or if you’re really, really active every other week, fine too. The goal is just to have everyone regularly contributing to the guild and making it an active, helpful place.

 

2. The guild wars are coming back. The other guildmasters and I changed the schedule a bit and brainstormed ideas for new guild wars and whatnot. Basically, there will be a prompt war once a month, and more word wars. We’ll have a schedule for you all soon so you know when they’re happening.

 

3. Operation Get To Know Each Other. Well, I’m the only guildmaster calling it that 😉 We can’t have a tight-knit community if people don’t know anything about each other. If you haven’t already checked it out, please go to the Introduction Thread 2.0 and get to know your fellow Ereki. Taking a little time to learn more about one another can really help your experience of the guilds.

 

4. We’re going to fire up the worldbuilding thread again because… we might be getting homepages for our guilds soon. On that page we’ll have a bunch of cool facts about Erekdale — the history, the inhabitants, guilds wars won, etc. It’s not set in stone yet, but we’re hoping to get it soon, along with badges for your profiles so you can know which guild everyone is part of in the regular forum.
