@corissa You write poetry, huh?
-
Yeah… a lot of poetry. It’s something I can do during the 15 minute break I get at work on the nights I skip supper, or when I just need an outlet. I took up free verse in the last year, which has really helped. I enjoy rhyming poetry too though, and I’ve been doing that since I was 7 or so. Why do you ask?
-
Because I LOVE reading, writing, and critiquing poetry. I love learning about poetry and the poets. All things poetry I like.
It’s good to just let go and flow out upon the page. Have you ever tried writing with a ABCB rhyme scheme? It’s one of my favourites.
-
-
Not gonna lie, as much as I love poetry I haven’t learned a lot about the technique of it, and I had to look up what an ABCB rhyme scheme is. ;P But yes, that was actually my primary pattern until a couple years ago when I started branching out a little more. (Also, do you happen to live outside the US? Just curious because of how you spelled…[Read more]

Yeah, no I don’t. I’m currently living in California, but I’m also European as well as American.
-
That’s pretty cool! I’ve read a lot of old European books, and I have a few Australian friends, so I actually kind of prefer the “ou” spelling. 🙂
-
Yeah. For me it adds character to the word. Somehow.
-
Exactly! I don’t know if you have ever seen and/or read Anne of Green Gables, but it reminds me of that- because Anne with an “e” really is so much nicer than just Ann.
Also, random fact, every time I see the “ou” spelling, it reminds me of the word “facetious,” which is the only word in the English language to include, in alphabetical order, one…[Read more] -
I’ve never read it but I’ve seen two different versions of the movie, yes. True, Ann just seems to let you off a cliff.
That’s cool, I’ve never heard of a word like that before!

That happens to me when I’m posting a poem or something and I try to align it to the center. I’ve no idea why. Nice story.

Gee, thanks!
That’s nice.
Same here! That’s what I do! I do something like this for my poetry. My way of going about it is to always glorify God. Both through it and of it. I usually write about nature and use metaphor to show a deeper meaning.
That sounds awesome!! I’ve the centaurs and dwarves, too (I use dwarves, too. Dwarfs…[Read more]

Cool! That sounds like a great process! I don’t usually do 5-10 drafts but that’s a great idea. It would help to polish it all up. That is, if it wasn’t already polished. And I could add.
I totally know what you mean! I let my mind wander and sometimes it scares me. Like how I got from mud to peacocks.

My family (mostly me Dad, actually) built our own house on five acres in the foothills of Loma Rica.
(sniff) We had to sell it because of church things. Anyway, I hope one day, to go back and buy it.
It was two stories and great.

Hey, well that’s great! I’m pretty good. I slept hard last night. Like a rut in the road.
I was inspired by Tolkien’s languages and found them interesting enough to write my own. I like doing it, ya might say. Kinda like a hobby on a hobby. Language on writing. It also really adds depth to my stories.
I have a galaxy-like thing,…[Read more]
