AND SO I RETURN FROM DEEP CRYOSTASIS.
So, a background in weaponry:
As @rose-colored-fancy pointed out, a longsword is not a heavy weapon. A typical arming sword, or your classic one-handed sword, about 2-3 feet in length, would weigh in around 1-1.2 kilograms, or 2-2.5 pounds. This is the definitive “sword” of the Early and High…[Read more]

Pia glanced at her “sleeping beauty.” Kallun was laying against a rock, blue hair wild like hot fire. She smirked, “Maybe I should do like the old fairytales, Kallun is like those sleeping under a spell. Just about anything won’t wake him up.”
K’Nika jumped down from the tree. -

Finn was the next one to wake.
“Well good morning princesses” he said with a smile.
“Julian and Lace aren’t going to get up on their own, are they?” Ellie asked.
“Nope.”
He went over to his sister and nudged her in the head with his foot. She frowned with her eyes shut still. “Whaaat?” She whined pushing his foot away.
“Get up,” Finn…[Read more]

@rose-colored-fancy praying for you!
@jared-williams no, it wasn’t you. This castle dies periodically. After a while someone resuscitates it and we have a mad frenzy of posting until the next hiatus. 🙂

Fatally or not fatally?

Ellie got up immediately after Pia.
“Good morning,” She said softly

Wonderful! I can’t promise I’ll be available (looks like I just got a job and I have another one starting up in late May), but I will try. 🙂
Ahhh, ok! I wondered about the tent/pavillion thing. I think my confusion over the setting was just because I didn’t read the scene where they first saw it. 🙂
I do usually like harsh…[Read more]

Would you guys know anything about the immediate reaction of people after getting stab wounds or shot? Is pain felt straight away or how exactly does it work?
Fair warning, I’ve never gotten either stabbed or shot, but I do have a worrying tendency to enjoy dangerous sports, so I have an unfortunate amount of experience…[Read more]

Alright I’ll post it! Warning it might not be very good.
Critique when you have the time!
Wigeon stumbled into camp. She could make out faint decorations hanging on the walls of the wide notch cliffs. Flowers, and feathers tied together on vines were hanging on any spot a cat could reach.
The faint light that emitted from…[Read more]

Go ahead and post it! 8-900 words was about what I was thinking was a bite-sized excerpt (for me) anyway. 🙂
That’s okay, I never know how long my works in progress will end up, either!

I don’t really mind how long chapters are and I would be willing to communicate through Google docs.
That’s where I do most of my work too.

I certainly don’t know from experience, but I think it can be different depending on the situation. If adrenaline is running hard enough, some people can get wounded without knowing they are wounded – then there is also different pain tolerances where some people scream bloody-murder at a paper cut, while others can…[Read more]

I would be up for it though my chapters tend to be 3000 to 4500 words long. Most people critique me through google docs where I post my chapters.

I don’t know how long my WIP will be.
The first chapter is 900 words but I would be ecstatic if you just helped with that since it’s my first time
I would also like to switch to either a website that would help with critiquing.
I think a word limit would also be a good idea too.
I will check out this other…[Read more]

I like the idea. =) And would be willing to participate and help out! I’ve gotten the feeling critiquing isn’t very big in this forum, though people aren’t averse to doing it if you ask… I’m on a different forum, Christianwriters.com, that has an active critiquing section in it that I use a lot, but I like this idea. I find that the more eyes on…[Read more]
