So funny thing–I’m actually old enough to drive myself(went through driver’s ed and everything) but I was lazy and let my learner’s permit expire, so now to get my license I have to re-take the written and the driving exam. And I’m not very motivated to do that…. so I still can’t legally drive. (Not that I don’t…. *grin* Don’t…[Read more]

Haha, I’m the same. I struggle soooo much with word-count. I can churn out hundreds of ideas, build fantastic worlds, create good characters…. but when it comes to actually writing? I’m surfing Pinterest. XD
XD You may call me Inkcredible. 😉
I usually have trouble with word-count, because like I mentioned…[Read more]

Aww, thanks! And you’ve got a character named Kare, right? (Or am I thinking of someone else…. XD) I love him. He sounds very interesting, and I can’t wait to read about him someday!

So sorry I didn’t get to this sooner! I’ll outline my major tips for writing fantasy battles below. XD
- Be unique. What makes this battle different than a battle not set in a fantasy world? By writing fantasy, even if your novel doesn’t have a magic system or any super crazy elements, there’s an expectation that is set by your…

Alright then! I’ve decided to do a little question/prompt thing once or twice a week just for fun on this topic. You don’t have to do it, it’s just for fun and to get some creative juices going, and so to make friends and help our fellow fantasy writers out. I’m not trying to replace the guilds or anything(XD like I could ever replace our awesome…[Read more]

Also, for all you Les Miserables lovers here, I own in on DVD and I watch it on every new years—and I still cry ever. time. It’s so amazing and beautiful and just…. man, it’s so good. Now that movie, people, is how all movies should be. Beautiful and tragic and sad and gorgeous and just…. beautiful. (Also, for the record, that movie has one…[Read more]

XD No problem! Cheesy deaths are something that will ruin a book for me, so I’ve got a lot of opinions on it. 😉
AND YESSSS. That trope of the mentor dying and offering some last-minute clue thing is soooooo overused and I hate it. Unless it’s absolutely necessary, I hate it.
Haha, yeah I’m pretty mean to my darlings. They’re my…[Read more]

Lovely idea. I do just adore torturing my darlings. XD
1. Welp… first off, I write death how it is irl. No long, preachy speeches while bleeding out, no dramatic last-minute saves, no character-who-we-all-thought-was-dead jumping up and taking a blow meant for the hero before actually dying, no last minute words of…[Read more]

Sweet. If you do, I’m on Pinterest under the name Inkdragon, just like my tag. Or if you can’t find me like that, search for a board called Firemaster. I’m pretty sure I have the only one named that. XD

Yeah. I personally just prefer plot-driven stuff over character-driven stuff(unless it’s anime. there’s some really good character-driven anime out there) because it’s usually better done and less chaotic, especially in TV shows where the main goal at times seems to be to leech as much money as possible out of a show or spin-off.…[Read more]

Yes. I loved all the amazing character arcs that are so hard to find nowadays(especially in TV shows) in ATLA, so I’m really, really hoping that The Dragon Prince will be just as good. The best sign that we might get those character arcs so far in The Dragon Prince I think is the fact that it’s mostly plot-based, just like ATLA. A…[Read more]

Yesssssssss. I really hope his kids kind of end up being like Zuko in ATLA and join the “good guys”. They need a good character arcs. XD And despite the fact I hate the guy sorceror-dude who I also cannot remember his name, I hope he has a good arc as well. Villains need arcs too lol
XD yeah. I don’t know what was going through my…[Read more]

I’ll put them on my TBR list them. XD
Haha yeah, Naruto has a few things I wish weren’t in there… but I’m so attached to the overall story and the characters I still love it. It’s just something I grew up with and now the characters are my darlings. XD
Yess. The elves are super cool. I’m super excited to see where it goes, since…[Read more]

I read a couple of the books as a kid, but now that my library(which tiny, y’all. I live in a town of 700 people, so the library is midget-sized.) finally got the whole series, I really want to read them all.
Oh, nice! I’ve watched The Dragon Prince, and I thought it was pretty good. Plus, a ton of the people who worked on…[Read more]

Ooh, what anime do you watch then? Voltron is awesome, except for sitting through the transformations over and over and over again. XD
Haha yeah I really like it when a cartoon is able to pull off an non-stupid death or overly dramatic death… and Dagur’s was honestly almost perfect. And then he suddenly appears out of nowhere, and…[Read more]

The episodes aren’t bad, by any means, but to me they’re nothing compared to the movies in either animation of story, really. Also, I don’t watch American TV animated TV shows very often, as I prefer Japanese anime over American TV unless it’s something like Voltron or Avatar: The Last Airbender.
And Dagur is cool…. but I almost…[Read more]
