  • I haven’t done this sort of thing myself, but I know @calidris has done some stuff with a twenties style setting. Calidris, what sort of resources have you used?

  • @inkhorn @abrielle

My character has been raring to go for this XD

    Mara

Where are all these new people coming from? This place is so confusing. I’m honestly glad Frey got pulled away because he made that even worse.

Then one of the new ones starts shouting about revolution, and I can’t help but giggle at her. Apparently the Nightingales are…[Read more]

  • @abrielle

I apologize for not writing a post earlier. This summer is a bit more hectic than usual. 😅

    CONROY

“Aha! The army has arrived!” screeched Rhianna with such force that Conroy nearly tumbled off the stage. He yelped, flailing his arms in attempt to regain his balance. He grasped the thick red curtains, pulling them around him to recreate…[Read more]

Name: Igua Dyke Cloak. (Note: Cloaks never share their true last names except with each other, part of Tradition) masculine
World: The original world of Wond.
    Type/breed/kind/whatever-you-want-to-call-it: Man
Profile: green eyes, shaggy brown hair, one side of face and neck has burn scars. 5’3″
Culture/people: Realn, a warrior people who believe…[Read more]

    • Hi Rae! Igua sounds like an interesting character. Random thing, but I’m very curious about the aversion to butterknives. Has he got some kind of tragic history involving them?
Also, about him and Skullcrusher, could you throw them into a bit of trouble together? Make them learn each other’s languages under stress and by necessity, if that makes…[Read more]

      • Igua does have a tragic past as Nahim does, his father was a Cloak but his mother grew up and raised him in a little town where he got his strange accent and his awful habit of slang. When they get into full swing it’s called another language but hey! It’s faster to say stuff. His mother supported her husband but never became a Cloak. When his f…[Read more]

    • Rants are welcome! Hey, your plot sounds good! I have a habit of coming up with a million characters, half a dozen story lines, and then trying to smoosh it all together. You can probably guess that it doesn’t work great. For example, my novel work in progress (though I have a short story I have to finish first):
      A. Rhianna, the Loki, is an…[Read more]

      • That is comforting that rants are welcome because (beware) Ru Eis has a lot of rants she can cast forth.
Your story sounds intriguing. I’m curious who these people are and their backstories.
I’m a fan of backstories and that is where my plots often come from. For Guardian Angels, when I figured out the fact that his family was dead and how it…[Read more]

      • Ru from the now present just poking something in. A common sample of Igua’s slang is, “The effe (ef-ee) woul’e dest.” Translation: “The effect would be devastating.” Now you can see why his Cloak Circle BEGGED him to learn how to speak normally!

    • HA thank you for mentioning backstories, I just realized that literally only two of those characters have them. This is still a relatively new story. Also, I made a conscious effort not to make sad characters, who are the ones that really need those. Something to work on!
How many brothers do you have? Do any of your siblings write? I have two…[Read more]

      • I have two brothers and no sisters, none of whom write. I have no idea where I got this love for writing since no one that I know of in my family does. I have to write things by hand first either on paper or on my digital notebook from the company Mobiscribe, I just have to write it in good ol’ cursive too since my print has some of the worst…[Read more]

  • They’re great Inkhorn! I like. However, Rhianna would be lying through her teeth about it being the best dream ever. She’s not been in it long enough for it to take that prize. You probably noticed that she isn’t averse to telling whopping fibs though, so it’s completely in character.

    Rhianna

“…we are trapped here until Lord Castle sees fit to…[Read more]

  • @abrielle

Cahira is my main character while Conroy is a side character. Conroy’s backstory had been pretty underdeveloped for a while, but once I started diving in, it got heavier (more than I intended). 😅

    CAHIRA

The dramatic entrance of the young woman diverted Cahira’s attention, which was soon captured by the woman’s declaration of freedom.…[Read more]

  • @inkhorn

Your characters sound like fun! Conroy seems kinda sad though. Just curious, are either of them main characters?

😁 Thank you! I am very fond of Rhianna.

Now let’s see if we can get Denari in here.

    Denari

Ari stood in the doorway of the inn, frowning out at the whisps of fog that obscured the road.

“Eh, young Ari,” the inn…[Read more]

  • @scoutfinch190

Well, after trying six times to post a reply, I figured out that it just doesn’t like me putting links in here. So let’s try again xD

For electrocution, I went to the BRCA (Burn and Reconstructive Centers of America) website. Under “community resources” and “safety”, they have a page with a lot of info about electrocution.

  • Test post – three previous ones didn’t post 😛

  • Name & Age: Conroy; 7 years old
Appearance: 4′ 3″; Asian features but has curly light brown hair with dark brown eyes
Personality: Gravitates to whichever person seems to be in charge. Impulsive with few manners. Enjoys learning, especially about wars. Comfortable speaking to adults but unsure in interacting with kids his age. Quick to notice…[Read more]

  • Now for my first character: Cahira (who is around 18)
Appearance: 5′ 6″; Asian features with a thin face and straight black hair that come to her shoulders; rather scraggly
Personality: A busybody with a big ego. Observant of people’s faults and quirks which she quickly corrects. Extremely sensitive. A diligent worker and sometimes offers sound…[Read more]

  • @abrielle

We shall see if this works…

And may I just mention that Rihanna is quite the character (pun intended).

  • Oh no! That’s so frustrating!

Can you post stuff in parts?

  • Apparently, my longer posts aren’t able to get through…

  • Am I going to be able to post?

  • Denari

Appearance: He is about a head taller than Rhianna, with blue eyes and dark skin. Silvery circles trace a curve beneath each eye, matching the color of his hair, which is short and spiky like a hedgehog’s quills. In all other aspects, Denari is pretty average.

Personality: Very quiet and shy. Doesn’t talk a whole lot. Loves beautiful…[Read more]

  • Rhianna, the Loki

Appearance: Rhianna is short and slender, with straight black hair and green eyes. She looks about twelve, half the time. The rest of the time, she looks closer to twenty.

Personality: Passionate in whatever she does. She isn’t generally very good at thinking through things. Always very cheerful.

    Background: Rhianna is very…[Read more]

  • By the way, Rhianna thinks she is dreaming. She’s not normally quite that … ummm, whatever that was up there. Denari is my other character. I didn’t have anybody particularly in mind for who, exactly, Rhianna dragged behind the curtain.

  • Sounds good! I’ll try to post character profiles when I have a little more time.

“Denari, give up your most prized possession or take part in my fashion show,” Lord Castle said in his deep voice.

    Denari?
