  • I met two new people who have really helped me more than they can even know. I’ve only known about story embers for probably under six months, but as soon as I joined, I started growing tremendously! Even being so new, I am sad to see it go…I understand. It’s like a friend moving away, it’s not because they want to, it’s because they have to.

    @this-is-not-an-alien Thanks!
yeah, I just recently got onto Story Embers, but I met two great people that help me out sooooo much! (Reflecting how one does so well with putting up with my a-lot-less-than-perfect punctuation and grammar; shout out to you, Lydia.) And even though I’m so new, I almost cried when I saw the announcement. So long,…[Read more]

@r-m-archer I have emailed you my Word link under the subject ‘Guardian Angels’.

Sure! I have someone who wields a red pen and two others who mark whatever jumps out at them and another who basically leaves a ‘thumbs up’ most of the time. Whatever you are good at, you can do. Opinions and criticism is more than welcome!
Genre: sci-fi set in the Wond Galaxy with a tech level at a step above or at Star Wars.

@r-m-archer I know this is sudden, but since you have published and you write in two genres I like, would you like to be on my Google Docs fo my book? I like to have people older than me, who have writer backgrounds but also, don’t know me at all. I have two people on there already and two others that I email so don’t feel like you have to do it…[Read more]

    • Hi Rae!
Could you tell me more about your book and what sort of feedback you’re looking for? The genre, length, deadline, and a brief description of the story would be helpful–as well as whether you’re looking for big-picture or more specific feedback. I rarely do beta-reading since starting as a professional editor, but I’m willing to consider…[Read more]

Could you email me a link to the chapters you have, if it’s in Google Docs, or email me a file if it’s not? I have some thoughts based on your description, but I’d like to read what’s actually been written before I jump to anything and I’d like to be able to send you direct broad-scale feedback. If that works for you, my email is…[Read more]

  • I am about a year away from publishing and I’m only 14 right now. I want to self -publish mainly because I want to own all rights to my book, but I’m unsure if I can do it. I don’t want to publish as an e-book only if I even do an e-book. I want it done right. I have very little money, I know my dad would probably fund me if I asked him to, but I…[Read more]

So I did type up something but the site won’t let me post it, what can I do?

  • RAE posted a new activity comment 1 year, 3 months ago

Yeah, If you would really crack down on it as if it was your own work that would be AWESOME! I’ve been having some trouble. For one thing with sentences, I never got the whole ‘diagram a sentence’ thing until like really late so I sometimes have trouble. Though, on the Google Docs, you’ll have to highlight it for me since I only use Word for my…[Read more]

So…I need someone who is crazy about correcting grammar, as in typos, sentences that are not structured right, inconsistencies in spelling and capitalization, wrong punctuation. If your like that, would you mind editing an incomplete original sci-fi book? I know this sounds like an ad, but I need someone to help me out with my grammar. Just let…[Read more]

No problem! I took english 101 last year, and while it was boring in the extreme, hey! I kind of understand sentences better now!

  • So, I have this fantasy character whom I’ve not told you about yet by the name of Terry Darr. He first makes an appearance in a book I want to call The Princess, the Shadow, and the Blacksmith in which he poses as a blacksmith apprentice but he actually is (SPOILER) a accomplished pro at blacksmithing even being taught by a dwarf from a young…[Read more]

Problem is, I don’t want to go too crazy because I feel all of Igua’s emotions when I put on his Character Cloak and I always put it on when i write. I don’t like wearing wacky clothes (anymore, I was the kid wearing striped shirt with polka-dot pants and purple zebra socks. Mom wouldn’t allow me to go out in public wearing it but around the…[Read more]

Not exactly poetry, but it makes me want to write it! It’s from my own book so that’s why it says that it was a poetic moment because my fingertips wanted to tell the reader how the author was feeling.

Hi! My name is Ru (on the internet until my first book is published that is. And it’s a nickname from a mispronunciation from my big brother a long time ago and is pronounced roo, it has a special place in my heart as a name❤.) Now it makes sense…Lol! Igua would HAVE to be led down the catwalk. He’s got too much pride to walk down in something ridiculous! Early Igua’s most prized possession was his book of Wondian history from his father but later Igua’s would be his sister but she really isn’t a possession… So it goes back to his book but he gave it to his sister…[Read more]

Okay, this sounds so weird and I should know this, but exactly HOW does this fashion show thing go?

  • RAE posted a new activity comment 1 year, 4 months ago

It’s a tough one. I like the prophet idea but getting one…hard. I also can’t see Alpha breaking down and crying, neither can I see Grathmere. All three…that would spiral into chaos for a Realn clan and a entire kingdom Leahae rules.
