Here is the doc if you want to check them out.
Jane was reeeeally impressed. She was super impressed, particularaly seeing that I sent her a message a day or so before saying, “ACK. THERE’S A WAR AND I DON’T EVEN KNOW WHAT THE PARIMIS ARE DOING.”…[Read more]

Guys, I’m so proud of you!
It was really nice to come back from a week of injections, hospital trips, conferences, and essays (legit. It should not be legal to assign teenagers with thirteen essays to do in five days. *dramatic sob*) and to find that you had gotten on with writing, and had done an a.m.a.z.i.n.g job at it. So proud. You guys made…[Read more]

Okay guys. So sorry I’ve been gone, been dealing with doctors not believing me about my allergies until it was pretty obvious I was a mess, combined with the end of term rush of writing a ton of essays and music reports. *facepalm* But I’m back now.
I’m agreeing with Grandmother’s hands. Also, seeing that it has to be in a dramatic setting, maybe…[Read more]

It seems like literal aeons ago, but once upon an Annual Theme of Pacing and Suspense, we looked creating a sense of suspense and atmosphere through objects in writing. And then more recently, we had a post from Martin about The Artist’s Eye, and to seek the beautiful in the ordinary everyday.
For the next two weeks, that’s exactly what we’…[Read more]

Final post until we’re caught up! *cheers*
So, this one is written by Jane, with the input of Faith and Daeus who are two of Story Embers’ self-published writers, unlike Jane who is very much neck deep in working through the traditional publishing world.
So you know from the start, both have their benefits and disadvantages. Particularly…[Read more]

Hello all!
This week’s (or more, last week’s) lesson is from Martin, and is looking at the pros and cons of typing, and writing by hand.
So, without any further rambling from Jess, let’s see what Martin has to say about notebooks and keyboards!
Things I’ve learned from my own experience with both mediums:
Typing:
Pros:
Typing is fas…[Read more]

Hey guys!
If you hadn’t noticed, we’re three weeks behind! *hides face in shame* However, I’m just going to catch it all up tonight so that we’re back on track!
This particular post was written by yours truly on why we should even write in the first place.
If you’re reading this, the chances are pretty high that you’re a writer. But how oft…[Read more]

Results are up! We didn’t do so well this time, but we did know that. 😉 A fair few people didn’t get their counts in on time, and those of us who did, didn’t write a ton. Myself well and truly included.
But guess what, guys? There’s a good chance that we’ll have a word war in July when we’re Camp NaNo-ing to absolutely thrash the other guilds!…[Read more]

Hello all, and welcome to the month before July, or more specifically, the month before a lot of writers go completely mental and write a heap. 😉
If you are new to the vast quantity of writing forums out there, April and July are Camp NaNo seasons. Camp NaNo is an online writing “camp” where you and up to 19 fellow writers band together to try…[Read more]

Guys, guess what??
Parimi Alca is ONE YEAR OLD! *flails* It was announced to the world on May 28th, and Steward reminded me of this the other day. Unfortunately, I then totally ran out of time to actually say anything. 😛 But I just wanted you all to know this exciting fact, and get excited with me. 😀
So yay,…[Read more]

Hello all! This has actually been around for a while, but I totally forgot to announce it. (story of my life right now, honestly. XD)
We didn’t win, sadly. </3 That title goes to our friends over in Meraki, so be sure to congratulate them!
Our main issue was (as we kinda knew) that it was a HUGE story trying to masquerade as a super-duper…[Read more]

Does Jess deserve an award for being super forgetful??? YEP. *nervous laughter* Thank you, Catherine, for reminding me of this. XD
We have a word war happening, people!
This one is going from Monday to Sunday. If you’ve already written words from Monday to today, count them as well. *facepalm* Still can’t believe I forgot this.

@pursuewisdom Well, I can’t speak to the TV show, I’ve never heard of them and I have no idea what they are like. They sound interesting!
The reason the books bothered me was the impropriate and wrongful actions Horatio Hornblower takes. It’s not the mere fact of sin that turns me off (I would be one of the last ones to say characters should be…[Read more]

@pursuewisdom *coughs* Sooo I actually hated the Horatio Hornblower books. That is… at least the later ones. The first two were bunches of fun! I’ve never watched the series though…
What I read – I just started Beowulf. I like to read ahead the book I’m going to write papers on in the fall, so that’s the first one. And then @taylorclogston…[Read more]
