  • I differ with a lot of people on this topic. The main reason for this is that it seems like media is saturated with horrible people that we’re told to like because their hearts are in the right place. I hate that. When I read about horrible people, I want them to get what they deserve, or to see them redeemed. When I write, I want to give my…[Read more]

  • Here is how I look at it: I can’t make sense of dark things unless I write about them. I certainly can’t show Christ in dark places unless I go there. In a way, literature is a mission field, which Christians can enter and tell stories of truth and redemption that lead others to Christ. Sherman Alexie wrote a really good article once called Why…[Read more]

Hey, what if Lord Amnesia throws them all into one of our characters’ worlds at some point? That could develop how the characters acted in their own element and develop worldbuilding mechanics and everything!

If anybody’s interested we could use a chart like this to introduce the world and then try to build from there?

    WORLD CHARACTER CHA…[Read more]

  • I love fantasy novels. I love the depth and allegory writers manage to weave into their stories, and I especially love learning about God through them. However, I have always struggled to put such stories on paper. That has never been more true than recently.

I recently came up with an idea for a new high-fantasy novel. The plot is rather…[Read more]

  • SEARCH

Hades adjusts his mask. “I do not know any of these people personally. Do you recognize anyone here?”

“I know Search!” Burn says happily. “And then there’s Snake-Punk. And …” His brow furrows. “Search…”

“… There were still people in those stasis chambers.”

I shiver. “Can we get them out again?”

Burn kneels over the hole – hands pr…[Read more]

  • Thank you so much for your reply! It’s still relevant!! That really helps me a lot!

  • Many popular books change POV later in the series like the Divergent Series and the Percy Jackson series. It can take away from the reader’s experience in some cases but in others it enhances the storytelling.

There’s not rule either way that can’t be broken! I think if it clicks really well, adds something fresh to each book narrative and…[Read more]

  • “I told him he needed to give her flowers, but he didn’t follow my genius advice.” Arsene chirped. Are you done!?!? HE DIDN’T HAVE A CRUSH ON LEANA HE DIDN’T!!!!! WHY WAS EVERYONE TORMENTING HIM LIKE THIS!?!?!?!?!

“Bold words from someone thinks robbing a bank is the perfect way to get a date with his girlfriend.” Alessio grumbled under his bre…[Read more]

  • Leana accepts the cloth from Alessio, with a pasted smile. (It hurts.) “Thank you.” Where’d you get it?

Nathair glanced at the girl and Nithel, and smirked a little.

Nithel caught the smirk, then looked at the pair with a growing tingly feeling inside. *hasn’t been around Leana over a year, almost two* *she’s never been around guys, really,…[Read more]

  • “Didja fall through a hole in reality too?” A what? “Never mind – we already know the answer.”

    Why was everyone acting weird?

“She’s the planner.” The blind man points at his friend. “I just tell her what she needs to know to plan.”

His companion facepalms again, before voicing her opinion. “Okay. First off, lets see who’s even here. And if yo…[Read more]

  • Alessio buried his face into Nithel’s shoulder, wanting everything to stop, to just be safe for a few minutes.

There was so much he wanted to say and so many questions he wanted to ask. But he also didn’t want to move or breathe or do anything that might break the spell. Really he just didn’t want to be alone, with no one he could depend on.…[Read more]

  • BURN

    “What’s your plan?”

I tip my ear in the stranger’s direction. “Didja fall through a hole in reality too? Nevermind – we already know the answer.”

Plan. Plan. Implies I’m in charge. What idiot made that decision?

Tunnels in the Abyss it was me, right? I’m the idiot. Welp. There’s more responsibility for me to pawn of on Search.

  • Nithel came a step nearer, arm starting to slide off Alessio, knowing he had plenty glass of his own. They all did. But he wanted to check Leana.

Leana’s chest tightened a bit at Nathair’s rebuke, but she breathed in and out slowly. I’m not sure if it wouldn’t be worth it, getting the supplies. We worked hard for them. But, of course… maybe…[Read more]

  • Leana was watching him in a very pathetic sort of way. Nathair raised an eyebrow as she moved toward him, still with that helpful sort of innocence. Nobody had ever really hurt her yet, had they? For her to still be that naïve…

Nithel made a move to stop her.

“It’s fine, Papa.” She said gently, like a girl with a stubborn streak. Nithel didn’t t…[Read more]

  • Alessio grasped Nithel’s, and the man’s eyes widened in a bit of shock. But when Alessio leaned against him, arm wrapped tightly over his shoulder, tears again filled Nithel’s eyes. He released Leana and put both arms around Alessio, tears rolling down his cheeks.

Leana pressed her lips together, watching them. She swallowed hard, and pulled in a…[Read more]

  • “I don’t know what else I could want…” Nithel said softly. Alessio clenched his jaw and glared at Nathair, who just smiled at him. Nathair was good at putting people on their defensive, with his words. Alessio didn’t know if he even consciously did it anymore…

He just wanted to run, as far away as possible. They didn’t need to get in trouble be…[Read more]

  • The blind man was still shouting. At first, Hades tolerated it. Unfortunately, his patience was limited.

    “Hey! Where’d the monsters go?!”

His companion, a young lady, facepalmed (as Serena would put it. Hades did it a few times himself). “Please stop drawing attention to yourself.

His eyes were scarred beyond recognition. It seemed that he was…[Read more]

  • “Not to sound callous, but is there anything else you wanted?”

Nithel swallowed hard, It’s not callus. It’s protective. *honestly a bit heartened by it* “I don’t know what else I could want…” Softly, his brows furrowing. He glanced down at Leana, and she stared up at him with those beautiful blue eyes. Teary. What if the only way to save Lea…[Read more]
