It’s short but poignant. Uncomplicated and the fish has a adorable voice that for a creature with a small brain and probably short attention span seems rather realistic.

@r-j-karas Love it! You captured her shame so well! I felt as if I understood her, I almost cried. You made the verses that were in that passage much more alive to me. It’s a good reminder that we are all just sinners saved only by God’s grace and Jesus’s sacrifice. I for one, can always use that reminder. Beautiful reminder!

Guilt is indeed a very rare topic these days, at least rarely well done. The best examples in fiction that I ever read were of a Christian being convicted by the Holy Spirit. Some of the books by Martha Finley did this very well, where she described being convicted without being melodramatic or preachy.
