Happy Monday, Ereki!
I have a quick announcement before I post our annual theme discussion: I’m on the road driving (30 hours) to Realm Makers conference and back, so I won’t be on here that much until after the 25th. However, Pizza Ninja and Guildmaster @jane-maree is going to be popping in for me every now and then, so be sure to welcome her and eat her free pizza 😉
On to today’s discussion, about none other than antagonists.
We usually think of antagonists (or villains) as being the one to drive the external conflict in a story. But the best antagonists can also create internal conflict in a character by challenging growth, forcing change, and just traumatizing the protagonist by tempting him to give into his flaws (as we discussed last week).
This week’s assignment is to take your WIP or another story and figure out how your main antagonist affects your protagonist’s internal conflict. Then post your results here!

MY RESULTS:
– the villain in my short story, Eli, tempts my protagonist to give in to his selfish and destructive thoughts, making it difficult for him to attain his story goal in a positive way. Though my protagonist attempts to resist this attack, he eventually gives in (via his flaw), and his conflict is resolved rather tragically 😛*
