โWrite any story you choose with the most original and creative prose that you can.โ
THE TIME HAS COME PARIMIS.
War has been declared among the guildโs of Story Embers, and Parimi Alca is in terrible danger.
The competition will be tough. Avensbeck has won all of the prompt wars so far, and if we arenโt careful, they will dominate again. Also, t…[Read more]

A ‘beanpole’ does sound familiar and seems to fit better. Thanks for the advice!!

@Julia Lol… 508 or 512 wordsโฆ not like anyone was going to count it. xD
Here’s my clip from my nameless WIP:

Chris hadn’t meant to be found when he dove into the neighbors yard, but here she was standing before him: a plaid-skirted and pink-sweatered telephone pole. The elderly lady prodded him with the end of her broom.
“Are you s…

This question was raised as an aside by @consciousdreamer a few days back, and I figured it could be good to spend one of our Monday lessons on it.
All too often, you can be reading a book and then have to put it down and rub your eyes because the writer just had their entire cast described down to every freckle in one chapter. You have all of…[Read more]

Can I just say guys, you are doing awesomely here. O-o
I think I may spend all of tomorrow afternoon just going through these and collaborating some more things together and then responding to this stellar thread.
Also, I’m thinking that we may end up using some of our world building to have our own mini Parimi Alca tournaments? As in,…[Read more]

Haha, okay then. I shall brace myself. *nodnod*
1. Characteristic Moment
Oooooh, nice. I like how you’ve mentioned her issue (bavery) at the start, because that basically establishes the story. *nodnod*
2. The Inciting Incident
Yep. Looking strong, and already forcing her out of her comfort zone, so that’s good.
3. The Moment of…[Read more]

@julia Yes! She’s a master plot weaver! All of the little pieces come together so neatly. For each reveal, it seems to smack you in the face how obvious it seems (because of all the carefully laid clues) and yet you never would have guessed it. (At least, that’s my experience.)
@ariella-newheart Hi! You were one of the first people to welcome me…[Read more]

Well Parimis, it is time to say goodbye to a few of our members.
Some of our noble friends have decided that they would like to step out, at least temporarily, and I figured I’d let you guys know. Whenever someone is removed, I will put a farewell comment here for them, and so you all know.
At the end of the week, more will probably be…[Read more]

Who has sat down to plot and then ended up with all of their ideas going splat onto the page and not making any sense to how a book needs to be structured? Me too. A few years ago, (yikes, crazy to think that it was only just over three years) I would just come up with the intro, the complication, the plot twist, the climax, and the conclusion.…[Read more]

@writercatherine Hi there! Yes, it will be great to have you around. (Also, I’ll give you newbies a few weeks to settle in. Don’t worry.)

@julia Neverseen was the first one I had to wait for. Everblaze’s cliffhanger wasn’t the worst of them, but it was pretty bad. Hmm, maybe. In that case, it’d probably be Keefe because he’s so protective and impulsive. He might jump in front of a weapon to save Sophie. Mmm, yeah, they’re a bit more mature then Keeper. What’s your favorite part of…[Read more]

@julia YOU READ KEEPER OF THE LOST CITIES?! *screams* A FELLOW KEEPER HAS BEEN FOUND! (Sorry for yelling.) Have you read all the books so far? Are you excited for Flashback? Are you part of the wiki? Who’s your favorite character? Who’s your least favorite character? What’s your favorite book? Who do you ship? [Cease interrogation]
