Sorry for tagging you all again, but it’s been brought to my attention by a lovely staff member that I got my head muddled around and I’ve accidentally gotten my passive voice mixed into a bit of showing vs telling in this post.
So, to correct any confusion: “I saw/felt/heard” is NOT passive voice. It’s telling.
Also: “My pulse was roaring in my ears and my hands were shaking like leaves.” Is actually ‘past progressive tense’, not passive voice. So…whoops. >.<
More expert facts: Passive-voice sentences also often have a prepositional phrase after the verb. (Such as ‘by’ in “The ball was thrown by Tom.”) And you can check out THIS POST for more info about passive voice.
Sorry again for tagging you so many times, and I’m reaaally sorry about messing up on all the passive voice things. *scuttles away to hide in shame*
