@jane-maree Haha, yes, cousins are always so nice 😛 (I have one who’s always trying to push me into a body of water, only to “rescue” me at the last second. Or not.)
This is going to be awesome, guys! It’ll be nice to lighten up and be goofy after doing a rather serious one last time.
Here are some thoughts…
I had the same idea @emily-d has…[Read more]

@emily-d I really like your third idea. 😃
@jane-maree I have an idea!
What if the Mona Lisa is was meant to be a glorious shining lady, with a serious face? But then, a jealous artist snuck into his workshop and ruins his painting by smearing brown on her hair, and black on her dress. Leonardo is horrified and does his best to fix it. But as he…[Read more]

Hello hello Parimis!
This is your stand-in guildmaster, and I’m here to call you to arms! War has been declared once again, and we must come out with full force.
Because J.A. Penrose is away for the week, I was already half guildmastering you for this war, but since she was gone, I volunteered her (I’m her cousin, so I’m allowed to do things…[Read more]

@emily-d A word war is where all of the guilds add up how much writing they do in a certain amount of time, and whichever guild has the most words written wins.

Today, we are looking at the info from last lesson, and turning it into something.
Two paragraphs to be precise.
In which you are going to foreshadow your plot twist.
This shouldn’t be too time consuming or anything like that. You can use your own WIP, or just make up something for the purpose. The aim is to make sure that the readers get a…[Read more]

Can I just say guys, that that was brilliant. *flails* You all worked really hard, and ended up writing a really cool story. It was also a really hard sort of task because ‘prose’ is so broad. But whatever the result, you guys did a stellar job! *applause* I’ve turned it in now, so we just have to wait and…[Read more]

Often it is thought that there are two ways to approach writing: Character driven, or plot driven. However, with well written writing, this does not need to be the case. In fact, it shouldn’t be the case. The two aspects should be interwoven and inseparable.
This also ends up being vital in mastering your suspense. Because, particularly in our m…[Read more]

Hey guys!
I need some help. I think the paragraph where Bryka is deciding whether to go see Srepsev rise or keep running away needs to be expanded a bit. You can look at the doc to see what I mean. So, Parimis, it has come to my attention, that having a space to put up tricks that help people know when to use certain words, pieces of grammar, etc, could be helpful. That will save having to hunt through all of the critues and things to find that one gem that someone had.
So, if you have any helpful little tit-bits, feel free to share!

Okay Parimis!
I’ve spent most of today tackling our entry, and have added a lot more character voice. That’s made the prose stronger, but to be honest, ‘unique’ is a rather cryptic phrase. However, we need to cut down a few words. So, cutting back is appreciated!
Once again, here is the…[Read more]

@emily-d Hah, yeah, well, I’ve been pulled out of school until they have more of an idea of how bad of a condition I’m in, so mostly that’s just resulted in me being bored and realising how mushy my brain is. So glad you’re enjoying it though! That’s actually our main goal.
