@taylorclogston Woot! Good luck!
@emily-d Ah, just that it gets your name out there more.
You put up info about your books, and that is always a good promo kinda thing. So, at the moment, people can see where I’m at with Storm Wielder, what the mock cover is, a snippet and the blurb.
You also have these things called writing buddies, so that…[Read more]

@emily-d Of course you can! The idea is just to motivate you to write 50k and get that first draft D.O.N.E.

Hello Parimis!
November is just around the corner, and with it, is NaNoWriMo! (National Novel Writing Month) I’m looking forward to participating again this year, and I know some of you will be as well!
For anyone who doesn’t know what this is, NaNoWriMo happens every November, and it’s where writers from all over the globe aim to write a…[Read more]

Good job so far, guys! 😀 I went through and made an attempt at expanding the time travel scenes a bit. What do you think?
I also suggested changing the time travel method to his watch rather than him willing the wormholes to appear, because I think that it seems a bit too supernatural. I wouldn’t have a…[Read more]

@emily-d I alllllways hand draw.
My one main piece of advice that I don’t think has been said already, is to make sure that it is geographically logical. Look at how a river flows, and what sort of trees would grow alongside it. Are you really going to have a temperate forest next to those mountains? Is it a desert on one side of the mountain…[Read more]

Hello all Parimis!
Apparently I got confused at some point and your guildmaster…has not returned yet (she’ll probably be back tomorrow), so I thought I’d whip up a quick lesson for this week in her stead. (Actually, I’m cheating and I’m reusing a lesson I’ve used in my own guild–Meraki–because it also fits with your theme of pacing and…[Read more]

@writercatherine @steward-of-the-pen @esjohnson @evelyn @emily-d I’ll try writing the first draft, then; also, I’m using the name Dave as a placeholder for the time traveler. We can come up with a better one, but I might as well do this while I have time right now 😝

@julia Cool! Those are some good ideas for places to go.
Did you see the other two posts from @emily-d and me on the top of the second page? We were talking about doing the villain story, but I like the idea of an art loving kid. He could be a nervous, nerdy kid (that’s why he time travels), and his nerdy friends would make fun of him for liking…[Read more]

@emily-d That. Is. EPIC! There could be this time traveler kid who loves art, and wants to see the Mona Lisa when it was being painted, and then accidentally bumps into it and sends it soaring off in a time wormhole. He has twenty minutes to find it before Leonardo gets back from his walk. It could end up in some strange places! Like with…[Read more]

That’s a chorkney. They’re from the Wingfeather Saga (AH BEST BOOKS EVER!) so if you want to know more about chorkneys, you’ll have to read them 😉
Oh my goodness. I LIKE IT! Maybe in the end either the villains lost the painting while they were time traveling and the jealous artist found it and decided to give it back to da Vinci…[Read more]

@emily-d YAY! I love worldbuilding! *happy dance* 🙂
Worldbuilding for me starts with asking questions, whether it’s something small like: “What is the terrain for this country like?” to “What do my people believe the stars are?” or something larger like: “What would it be like if trees could talk?”
Over the past year, I’ve come up with a list…[Read more]

@emily-d Well, my greatest weakness in worldbuilding is definitely making maps, mostly because I am not the greatest artist (perspective! Agh!). However, I’d much prefer to hand draw my maps (or hire someone else to draw it for me :P) than make a computer generated one. I just love the adventurous feel I get from a crumpled looking hand drawn m…[Read more]

@emily-d I am a girl, but I don’t mind that you got mixed up, so don’t feel bad 🙂
Yeah, I love it! It is nice, for a change, to have a female heroine after the books I did last year fo the lit class. But yeah, it’s really good. I can at least understand this one! Literally the entire time during the Black Arrow discussion I was saying to myself,…[Read more]-
@kaladinstormblessed Oh, I’m so sorry! I thought that Brynn was a boy’s name, and then I was like, “Wait, can’t it be a girl’s name too?” But I wasn’t sure. @cassie-hartfinh Hmm, interesting! Do we really want to go for character development though? We’ve been doing a lot of deep, dark stories and I feel like doing something goofy without worrying about arcs. I really like the idea of using da Vinici’s point of view, and all of these things are going wrong. Especially when you mix in @julia ‘s idea and have these people smearing paint all over it. I really like that idea. So, we should make a choice and start more specific brainstorming, probably. @steward-of-the-pen I love your…[Read more]
