@mamaauthoress Those characters and their world sound fascinating! And I can’t wait to meet Frey and Cahira as well @rose-colored-fancy @inkhorn
@calidris That’s a cool painting of Kit! I especially like how you did his clothing.
And I LOVE that idea for after the fight with Lord Castle! …though I’m not sure if I should laugh or be incredi…[Read more]

Sorry for the late reply! Indira, Promise and Edith do end up meeting, but i only have a vague idea of how, namely, as Indira is searching for Anil. As for the dragons and enemy, I’m still coming up with ideas for that. Feel free to let us know if you have any! (Especially if you intend to write either perspective) And I’m really not cer…[Read more]

I have arrived! As I am very excited about this collaboration, without further ado I introduce…
Indira Mercy Kumar and her horse, Promise! Mind you, he’s a talking horse. And Indira leaves in her wake a chaos of magical daisies.
When Indira’s brother, Anil, left for reasons not entirely figured out but probably having t…[Read more]

@rose-colored-fancy @calidris @lady-grace
If it helps, @calidris once gave me some great advice when I was doubting Aydin. She told me to imagine if they had grown up in completely normal circumstances. Would they still have those traits? For Aydin, that was a resounding yes.
Hmm, that’s interesting advice. I’ll try it on Ríadnu. Thanks…[Read more]

And speaking of art, I’ve finally finished a sketch of Jade that actually looks like her:

Thanks for that explanation!
AWWWW! Is he from the same story as Jade and Rosemary?
No, he’s from a different story. Ríadnu is the “chosen one” of a (favorite) WIP of mine, though not the POV character.
I t h i n k slightly sarcastic? I honestly can’t exactly pinpoint it tbh XD
Oh…well I definitely wasn’t being sarcastic.…[Read more]

I have finished it, and A Tale of Two Cities is now officially upon my favorites list. The ending!!!*flails and laughs and cries and doesn’t spoil for C. Leonard* Definitely no words wasted. The whole thing ties together so well.

Thanks so much for your answers! I do like to categorize things, but I was a bit concerned about not wanting a label to wind up defining a character. Which isn’t really an actual issue for me because my characters are themselves and categorizing them other ways doesn’t change that. So unnecessary worr…[Read more]

@anyone who wants to join in XD Whelp, that’d be me. Does this character castle emanate those ND vibes Cathy was talking about?

Mara
Crash!
Mara jolted out of sleep. That was not the New Day bell. Could the Fishers be…? There were rumors, after all. She stepped forward in the dark, reaching out for where her brother should be, safe in bed — and found only empty space. Panic shot through her veins. Crashing noises continued to emanate from some room that shouldn’t exist…[Read more]

XD Jade’s got her reasons, but she’s definitely not unbiased when it comes to Mara. I (and Mara) are glad Kit approves. Pretty much everyone else hates her hair.

Vulure vomit? Awesome idea! I can’t wait to see this… XD
@everyone
Jade and Isaias are now officially out of the Castle, and I’m going to throw Mara in now because this seems like her kind of situation. And maybe she’s been rather stubborn and reserved in her book, so the Castle is a time out 😂.

That’s cool! I’ve made a baby blanket too, but I’ve never done a granny square. They look cute, though, so I might try them sometime. The only amigurumis I’ve done are some little angels, which made great Christmas gifts. The bulk of my crochet work consists of dishcloths and lace XD. I totally get what you mean by the joy of making…[Read more]

It’s alright, we can just pull them out. Jade’s gotten as far as she’ll get outside her book, and same for Isaias.
I’m glad I got to “meet” you and your characters. Keep being awesome yourself!

😂 yes, it is! And it works pretty well because I’m some mild form of pantser.
I do have a current WIP as well as several books waiting to be written. My current one is a dystopian, and the others are one historical fiction and a bunch of (or really one very large) fantasies.
That’s so hilarious! XD
That’s okay! And I’d like to…[Read more]

I wouldn’t say I’ve finished the language, but it has certainly made a lot of progress. Now that I’ve actually learned something about language and grammar, it actually works. Lately I’ve started working on poetry with it 🙂
I’m still enjoying A Tale of Two Cities, but I haven’t finished it yet.
