Hi! My name is Enomis. I love reading books, crochet, and playing video games. I am working on editing a first draft of a contemporary Christian romance and planning two YA fantasy novels. I am really happy to be on SE!

Congratulations on finishing the first draft of a story! What are the books you mentioned about? I’m planning some fantasy novels as well, and I just love getting to know the world and its history and characters. What is your favorite thing about writing?

May your inkwells never run dry!August 18, 2022 at 9:10 pm #152413EnomisNekal@enomisnekalHi Emma! Nice to meet you.
I made one amigurumi bunny that I love. Right now I am making a granny square blanket because I love the joy from making little things. I am also planning a baby blanket for a friend who is 13 weeks pregnant. Right now I am leaning towards the bubble stitch. I love the little square I made with it.
The romance story is about a lady who was rejected by her boyfriend when he met someone else. Woman’s uncle invites her to come work for him at his bed and breakfast in the Colorado mountains. As she’s there, she starts a journey to gain confidence in herself and heal from past traumas.
As for the fantasy novels, one of them is about homeschooled twins accidentally stumbling into a portal to the fairy world where they are coerced into righting a wrong between the fey and the humans there so they can go back home.
The second story involves the meme “My Hogwarts letter never came, I didn’t get invited to Camp Half Blood, and now Gandalf is my only hope.” It’s still in the early planning stages.

The only amigurumis I’ve done are some little angels, which made great Christmas gifts. The bulk of my crochet work consists of dishcloths and lace XD. I totally get what you mean by the joy of making little things 🙂
Your stories sound interesting, especially the second one (though the third sounds kind of funny…and yet sad)! Do you have a favorite character?

I recently started reading contemporary Christian romance (before I stayed mostly with Christian suspense and historical), and I’ve found I really like it. What’s your favorite genre to read? To write?
August 19, 2022 at 11:24 pm #152434EnomisNekal@enomisnekalThanks, Kristina! My favorite genres to read and write are YA fantasy. Romance, especially faith based, is second. I used to really love Karen Kingsbury and Tracie Peterson, but it’s been a while since I’ve read their works. I’ve been reading a lot of Brandon Sanderson lately.

Thanks! I do have a favorite character from the first draft. Her name is Hattie, and she’s a really great woman. I plan on fleshing her out more from just being a minor side character to more of a mentor. I realized at the end of my first draft that she really needs more attention through the story, so I just decided to start writing as if I had already made those changes.
That story is actually the fifth story I have written. It’s just the one I feel most comfortable going forward editing and writing a second draft. The others have been YA fantasy or romance.
August 20, 2022 at 9:29 pm #152438Kristina@kristinaYA fantasy is lots of fun!
I read a ton of Tracie Peterson’s books a few years back, but I think I’ve only read one of Karen Kingsbury’s so far. I’ve heard a lot of good things about Brandon Sanderson. I need to try one of his out some day!
