Oh, these are awesome topics! I’m excited…
Okay, so to begin, I’m going to add my own to cents to this argument. @crazywriter, I agree with what you’ve said so far. (some debate this makes lol)
I think that cussing in books by the worldly standard, i.e. by using known expletives that I will not name because I’m a…[Read more]

Well, I think he’s less believable, less likeable, and less of a character. So, all around generally worse? LOL. You said something dangerous back there, though; someday I might take you up on your wish to read Quin’s canon story…when I get it done, lol. I’m only 16K into it so far, but, yeah. Have you started Niarok and Yila’s…

I think that’s a great idea! I love debating, and we were having some really good ones.
And feel free to post your WIP! I think I might post some of mine too if that’s alright.
I feel your pain… I mostly clobber people over the head with my opinion and then say I hope it didn’t sound offensive….

I was never on the debate page… tag me if you start one, though! (Be warned – I am horrible with debate, so I might bow out later on. ;))

Sorry I didn’t see this – we have company over so I only check my email at night. 🙂 And yep, that’d be awesome! Tag me if you post it in a different thread. 😀

Lol! Are you out on the plains? If you don’t want to say, that’s fine. I’m just curious.
Lol!!! I mean, same though. I do have a habit of rubbing people the wrong way just to see how they’ll react. Perks of being an author…
I just looked up Clamavi de Profundis, and I’m confounded! It’s beautiful!!!! And I feel…[Read more]

I actually have no idea where Canon City or Evergreen are. I’ve heard of them, but I’ll wager I’m several hundred miles away… 😛

Don’t worry, I only hang certain characters. XD
I’ve actually never heard of them, but I’m going to look them up. I like to listen to bands who have fallen out of general graces…
Lol right? I wish Christians would put as much effort into the storytelling as people in Hollywood do. Just because they don’t have the highest quality…[Read more]

That’s sad! I remember you were quite involved while on the Wingfeather forum. I might still try to get involved, although I’m currently very far away from C Springs to be going down there on a regular basis. Maybe during my gap year.
That’s awesome! I’ve heard good things about Trinity. I’m hoping to go to a Christian university to…[Read more]

I know exactly what you mean by silvery! I also agree that Latin is very earthy. I think your idea could actually work quite well. I’m quite fond of languages that carry the signifier in the prefix and not the suffix. It does give it a more light feel. I would maybe think of some more prefixes, like perhaps es for the object of, and…[Read more]

Lol I’m not surprised at all! He’s such a noble character. He befriends Pip and saves Faramir from fiery death! What’s not to love???
Haldir is the lead elf who guides the Fellowship into Lothlorien. He’s very sweet and I love him. 🙂

YES, SAM!! he’s an amazing character. Do you have a favorite quote and/or moment/event in LotR? If I had to choose it might be the battle of the Pelennor Fields, but I can’t choose!!
@crazywriter, no I haven’t seen the movies. I don’t really want to, either. You like them though?

Awesome, thanks for the review! (XD And no worries – I’ve only met a couple jerks in my life and you’re not one of them. ;))

have you seen Tolkien? It’s honesty one of my favorite movies.
Gaaah, no!! I keep wanting to (we even have it at the house at the moment ’cause I wanted to watch it), but it’s apparently it’s not a little-kid friendly movie, so I have to find a time when my younger siblings won’t be watching and when it’s my turn to pick. It’s on t…[Read more]

Wow. That’s… sad. *decides to go and give ’em a piece of my writerly mind XDDD*
As far as enemies go, I think you’d be hard pressed to make them, because unless you really step on toes, kids are just bored with life, and have nothing to love for greater than themselves, because the vast majority aren’t saved.

I like what you said there. That’s very true. A word can sound cool, but if it means something bad, then it loses its beauty. And vise-versa, the word can sound kinda mediocre or even weird, but if it has a good meaning, it has a natural beauty.
So when I make a language, I usually try to use a construction similar to Latin. Since…[Read more]
