@scribbles WHOOT WHOOT! Kay, that is awesome! What an accomplishment!
This story had such a great setting! I felt the cool, chilly morning air, and I felt the trailer sway beneath me. For some reason, I imagined a really vivid background and, even though you never quite said this, I saw like maybe a slightly dated, coal miners town or a…[Read more]

@happyholly_c First off, hello!!! ๐
Secondly, I am still learning about the showing vs. telling, when-to, how-to, etc. so I’m afraid I’m not much help in that department. I did find quite a few grammatical boo-boos, but nothing major. The writing style kind of reminded me of a Junie B. Jones story.
I find it a little strange that Ben was the…[Read more]

@rolena-hatfield andย @scribbles Seriously!! It’s been six years for me too since HS graduation and time FLIES! It’s crazy! My dad once told me that as you grow, time gets exponentially faster. He was so right! It’s scary how fast it goes by.
Rachel, I love the beautiful imagery you use! The language is vivid and paints a clear picture. The…[Read more]

@the-golden-light I loved the Ascendance Trilogy!! And I’m a total sucker for the Chronicles of Narnia. LOTR is classic and amazing. Great taste!
To echo previous recommendations, Theย Giver is absolutely excellent, a Nebery Medal Winner. It asks some difficult questions and is very well-written. I also highly recommend Lois Lowry’s Gossamer.ย Erago…[Read more]

Um, so okay here is a link to the full The Little Fairy. I also put some of the Untitled Mermaid (starts on pg. 15; should be marked in the outline to easily jump down.) draft at the bottom. Please feel free to read as much or as little as you like.
These are both basically first drafts. I know the ending of The…[Read more]

@rolena-hatfield I don’t know that I’ve ever had a lemon flavored muffin, but Iย love lemony desserts!! They’re probably my favorite. (Also a HUGE fan of pecan pie!) I like the cranberries more than the orange, personally, but I’ve never had a straight up cranberry muffin, and the orange does have a nice mild flavor in the background.

@rolena-hatfield Oh my gosh! XD Some say I’m a lil obsessed with Tink. I have a light up Tinker Bell on my shoe (some cool croc accessory my grandparents got me). I’m glad you enjoyed the excerpts from the story. I do have a finished draft, if you’re still interested. It’s still a bit of a draft, but there are a few more characters you haven’t met here and the story may make a little more sense without skipping around.
Thanks for the input! I…[Read more]
