@rolena-hatfield I don’t know that I’ve ever had a lemon flavored muffin, but I love lemony desserts!! They’re probably my favorite. (Also a HUGE fan of pecan pie!) I like the cranberries more than the orange, personally, but I’ve never had a straight up cranberry muffin, and the orange does have a nice mild flavor in the background.
Oh my gosh! That sounds delightful! Especially with fruit on top!! I have been devouring our local strawberries by the basketfull this season! Wow, I’d imagine it’s a lot of ice cream! Is that a recipe you think he’ll pass down? I love generational recipes! There’s just something about learning hands on from the people you love how to create something that everyone gathers around to share, I think.
Hehe, I know the feeling! I LOVE to cook! I’m trying to learn how to bake cookies from scratch, but…it’s been a bit of a disaster so far. I want to know how to cook everything I can from scratch, then I can play around and do what I want. Oh, grilling! Yes!! My family is obsessed with grilling! I don’t have my own grill yet, but one day! I’m learning for now from my grandpa and my mom. One day I’ll be on my own to experiment in that world too!
I’ve never heard of Kartwheels, but I am a pastry lover for sure! Especially any with cream cheese. Truthfully, any dish with cream cheese gets my vote. Oh, man, I remember the first strawberry rhubarb pie I ever had! I was pretty little and my uncle made it from the wild strawberries and rhubarb in our yard. I thought he had to be joking about the rhubarb, but he wasn’t and I am so glad! It was a pretty darn good pie!
Haha, yes! I love to cook. Not only is it creative in it’s own right, not only do you–hopefully XD–end up with really tasty treats and filling food, but my favorite part is creating something delicious and watching others come together to enjoy it. I have a big family, so cooking in college was kind of hard for me. I had to learn how to cook for just me. Eventually I got around that by cooking large portions, like I was used to, and then having friends over to eat and sending them home with lots of homemade leftovers. There’s something about food and fellowship, companionship, making memories, and sharing that just makes cooking one of my very favorite things. 🙂
Mm, in the summer, I always make a fruit pizza at my grandparents. It’s to die for, a yummy dessert pizza that has become my own tradition in the family. I think I like cooking family recipes best because they remind me of the memories I’ve had while eating them and the people who taught me to make them. (Gosh, now I just sound redundant. XD) Some of my favorites are my grandmother’s Cheesy Vegetable Soup, and my uncle’s Shredded Roast Beef over onion buns with mozzarella cheese! Yum!!
