I’m glad you enjoyed the excerpts from the story. I do have a finished draft, if you’re still interested. It’s still a bit of a draft, but there are a few more characters you haven’t met here and the story may make a little more sense without skipping around.

Thanks for the input! I love the suggestions you have about the physical reaction to the light. I’ll try to figure out a way to revise that bit and put something more detailed in.

The world is a lot of fun for me. It’s actually the same world from my current WIP, currently Untitled Mermaids XD Since I stink at titles. I’ve been so focused on developing my underwater world that this is really the first time I put to paper some of the world above. I’ve had ideas rolling around for a while (about creatures and such), but this is the first written draft of the land world at all. So, I’m really glad to hear it drew you in. I actually want to write a short story for the contest with Willow and Maya a few years down the road from this story. It’s been giving me nothing but a headache though, so we’ll see how it goes.
