@evelyn Ooooh yep. That’d be cool.
@calebonline I’m not 100% sure what you mean. Because from memory, that’s what 2nd person entails?
@christlover Hmm, yes. Letters are a fairly obvious one. The problem would be that they generally have both 1st and 2nd person within them…

Hey guys, sorry this is late. But guess what? It’s May, and time for me to set up some new things for the guild! (It’s also International Star Wars Day, so as a Sith, I’m pretty darn excited about that.)
Back on task though. Today we’re hearing from Maddie about how to gain the habits required to write consistently. I’m excited, because I’m…[Read more]

@april-j-rhys The Aetherlight is an online game, one of my favorites. π It’s steampunk and has elements of Christian allegory woven in, mostly the stories of the Old Testament. You can check it out here, if you’d like. The Ilyon Chronicles is a really cool fantasy series by Jaye L. Knight. (Think along the lines gladiators, noblemen, martyrs, and…[Read more]

J.A.Penrose started the topic Writing Life : How to Deal with Non-Motivation/Discouragement in the forum Weekly Theme Discussion 7 years, 4 months ago
Hello Parimis!
I’m going to say now: feeling unmotivated and discouraged is something I struggle with a lot. I don’t tend to deal with it well (you can occasionally walk into my room to find me curled up in blankets on the floor with a lifetime supply of chai-tea and tissues) but it looks like Faith has a few words of wisdom for us…[Read more]

Hello Parimis!
This is our Weekly Guild Discussion from Brandon this week, and we’ll be looking at a really cool topic: Reading. Without any further rambling at the front, we’ll hand over to Brandon.
Okay so, weβre all writers, right? We weave words and spin tales and generally have a good go at reality. For most of us though, our love for s…[Read more]

@steward-of-the-pen Yep! I love it so much. We don’t have a lake (sadly). We have a nice two-story house we built ourselves (my dad, mom, a couple uncles, grandpa, and a couple friends). We hired some people to do the shingles, pour the foundation, and lay the bricks, but otherwise we did it with just family members, and without taking out a loan.…[Read more]

@april-j-rhys It’s nice to meet you. π I have written several fantasy books and at the moment am editing one of them whilst also plotting a fantasy/sci-fi mashup. Years ago I wrote a sci-fi short story (which needs soo much editing *cringes*) and more recently two fanfics (one HTTYD and one Aetherlight based). My favorite book series are probably…[Read more]

@christlover I’d say the same… Challenge I had a lot more work than Challenge B, and compared to Challenge A, it was probably about the same, except that all the tests were not about things one memorized, but testing the actual comprehension of the material.

Hello, guild people! π
Once my writing teacher told me that every writer had a super power. Something that they were especially good at. Maybe it was wordsmithing, or world building, or description, or connecting readers with a character, or creating a sense of suspense, etc.
So, since I’m still meeting you all, I wanted to know what you think…[Read more]

I loved it Starship Troopers! Which really surprised me. I was excepting more blood and guts and language kind of thing, but it was so thought-provoking and philosophical.
