@papergirlsfb Yes, NaNoWriMo is for November, but you can prep for it during April and July when Camp NaNo’s going on. It’s a great learning experience, even if you don’t do the whole word count.

I enjoy reading a variety of genres, but I tend to stick with historical fiction when writing, though I’ve dabbled in fantasy and retellings. What about you?

Fellowship of the Ring is my favorite LOTR book, but I think my favorite by Tolkien would be a hard choice. Have you ever read The Fall of Arthur by him?

Yeah, but thanks for clarifying! I honestly see nothing wrong with fantasy, but I believe there’s also a lot of potential for Christian writers to write good (not cheesy) literature in other genres as well. It’s not just limited to fantasy.

I do have one question, just out of curiosity. Does Story Embers and the other groups associated with it only support Christian fantasy, or is it for all genres that are written with Christian perspectives or virtues?
