Dragon spit now? I know!! I’ll make that some sort of oath in my fantasy novel I’m currently working on for NaNoWriMo.
Okay, for a poem, write a comedic poem about someone who’s really hungry and thinking about all sorts of food, but who is too lazy to get up off the couch and make lunch.

@evelyn Thanks!! That takes a load off my brain, lol. *squints at pointed-out mistake* Ah! Good eye. *scrambles to fix typo to prevent further embarrassment*
Any new prompts?

@evelyn Well, I did, but…it’s not my best. I tried going for a comical feel with a slightly darker ending, and I’m not sure how well I pulled it off. You be the judge:

@evelyn Oh yeah, we’re totally gonna win…cuz we got the best clothes and weapons! *twirls in Jedi cloak and flings lightsaber at a wall* Oh…dearie me…now I’ll have to explain this scald mark to my mother. I could hide it with a Star Wars poster, though! Yeah, yeah…I think that’ll work…

@evelyn The secret is to lock yourself in your room for multiple hours per day and refuse to eat, sleep, or emerge until you meet your own personal word quota. It takes much patience and discipline…something a Jedi Knight must train for years to acquire. *ingnites lightsaber and poses*

@j-a-penrose I wrote another 9,031 words since the last tally. My total is now 20,268.

@silverclaw-bonnetfolly Perhaps only a few. We need to make it long enough to have a good effect, but short enough that we can memorize it and shout it at our enemies without taking half an hour!

@julia I do like @ariella-newheart‘s suggestion though, of how that poem she wrote could just be some Parimi Alca lore, and we could all collaborate on our own song. How about this for a first verse?
We are the light of the world
We let our lights shine before men
We don’t fear when darkness’ jaw unfurls
We never quake in the lions’ den

@j-a-penrose Well, I guess I’d have to say that the thing I struggle with most right now, is staying within the mind of my main character even though I’m in 3rd person POV. I do better at putting myself in her mind when I’m in 1st person, but 3rd person works best for my current WIP, so…
HELP!!!

Y’know what’s funny? All of us kids are in our girls’ room right now, writing and reading each other’s stories. It’s amazing!!!

@ariella-newheart I find it amusing how I posted my best verse literally seconds before you posted the same one, lol. But yeah, your favorite pick from Romans does seem to fit better. Makes us sound tougher, too. 😛
Totally share your poem!!

“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. @j-a-penrose I LOVE that idea! Let’s compose our own song! How about we base it on a verse?
Parimis?

@sarah-vdh I know, right?!
@steward-of-the-pen Yeah, I see what you’re saying. It’s hard for me to choose, because I like your song for the lyrics, but I like mine for the style. Maybe we should try to find a happy medium? I might know a couple other songs, perhaps by Rich Mullins. He was good at mixing the best of both worlds.
