@corissa ooh, her being the Jezebel could be interesting…but also difficult; you’re right. XP and it is very easy to lose sight of the prompt. Hm. Not just an exotic fish–but what would it be? A normal fish she sees a lot? Something ordinary that fell into the kelp? But somehow she sees beauty in it?

@corissa I didn’t see the part about Baal worship. That would be interesting. You mean like the episode with Elijah and the fire from heaven–what the Baal worshipers were doing then? We could get real deep if we’re talking about depression and cutting themselves even just for worship. It’ll have to be handled in a very sensitive manner.

@corissa doing first person is a good idea. I like your reasoning.
I’m sorry you went through that. <3 I’ve had several suicidal friends and family members, some hospitalized, but none have fully gone through with it. Depression is a horrible, horrible thing. I’m sure you’ll give some really good input, though it might be painful for you to read. <3

@eden-andersen yeah 🙁 *eagerly takes the virtual chocolate*
Awww. Glad I was missed too <3
Yeah, I hope so XD
I’m wondering if I should write the story. I don’t think I have time XD but I love the idea. Also there are a few things I want us to figure out before the story is written, some of the things I had mentioned above. You don’t have to…[Read more]

@eden-anderson actually, I technically can’t have chocolate anymore :'( health things. But I can enjoy virtual chocolate, so there 😛
You’re welcome! <3
Yeah…. : that’s the plan for me too. 🙂 glad you’re back. I missed you.

@eden-anderson *gobbles chocolate* that is a very worthy role. I usually don’t do much for these, so I actually feel very accomplished right now…. I actually kind of dropped off the face of SE for a couple months cuz I kept forgetting to get on….

Also, third person or first person? @kate @anyoneelse

Cassandra Hamm replied to the topic A small jewel in a sea of chaos in the forum Announcements 7 years ago
@kate I love that idea! And I think it will be pretty unique. I think most people on this site tend to go for no-tech fantasy (usually medieval), so we can switch things up. How in depth does this religion need to be? How are we taking it? Is it legalistic, sucking the joy and beauty out of life? Or is it more focused on something else? Idk,…[Read more]

@kate that’s true. Hm…so are we doing a fantasy world, then, with a false god and priest/priestess? But then also scuba gear? What kind of tech are we talking?
-
Cassandra Hamm replied to the topic A small jewel in a sea of chaos in the forum Announcements 7 years ago
@kate thank you!! But wait…if they lost hope that there was beauty in the world, why did they take their gear? Why wouldn’t they just drown? Rather than swimming down and seeing something beautiful at their last moments.

I think this sounds awesome, guys! Ahhh I would love to write this story but am not sure I’ll have time…. When is it due? Also, this scuba diver dove in to find death–but they took their gear, which would prolong their life. Does that mean that they essentially wanted the last thing they saw (when they ran out of oxygen) to be something…[Read more]

I will also try to be around! I apologize for my extended absence : love the prompt! Battlefield first came to my mind, too, so I agree with the others. Wax museum would be interesting! I guess it would be considered dramatic. Maybe during a natural disaster? That’s dramatic. 😛 and that’s the way I’m understanding it too, @literatureforthelight!

@selah-chelyah I do agree with you. He is the source of ultimate good–and sometimes that ultimate good doesn’t turn out the way that we want it to. I believe that helping people see the pain that others are in *does* give God glory because it may help someone realize that they need to change the way they’re treating others. It may alleviate…[Read more]

*content warning: sexual abuse, etc*
@h-jones I personally write about hard topics all the time. I’ve noticed a lot of my characters deal with sexual issues–abuse, bad choices–and mental disorders since those are two things I’m very passionate about (also prostitution–as in being trapped in prostitution because I’m very passionately…[Read more]

@skye I’m down for it. Like you said, it’s way better than a mature Christian and a baby Christian (which I see waaaaay too often -_-). I don’t see a problem with it. People who are at the same spiritual level are the best people to be together. Then you grow together. Yeah, baby Christians are going to make lots of mistakes (which is why they’re…[Read more]
