Thanks so much guys for the feedback! Yeah I’ve been drawing probably like one or two things each week. I hope to get faster at my sketches, but I suppose that’s where the practice comes in and such.

What do you guys think about the reverse character arc, where the character goes from being a villain to being a hero? Do you think there’s room for both arcs in one story? And what are some ways that the two arcs can foil each other without being predictable?

Suddenly, at that moment someone crashed into the person Kayto was talking to. The man and lady in white were sent tumbling down a hill. The newest arrival, a boy with auburn hair, jumped to his feet, before wincing in pain and falling down again. The boy got up again and followed after the others.

Kayto didn’t want to follow these weird strangers, but he also didn’t want to be trapped out here alone. He tried to sum up how much of a threat each one was and concluded that he could survive a fight against them if needed.

Kayto headed down the hill and arrived just in time to hear the boy say something about a statue. Kayto frowned. He had been talking to a statue? Maybe no one had noticed.

“Can someone please explain what’s going on?” he asked.

( @ads_forest Is this Union as in your Union in a book or as in the actual Union in history? Also. Is Kayto (cool name by the way) with the twins, Scarlet and Ty or with Karra, statue Belial and Jake? )

It’s a made up Union. It’s essentially a dystopian government and I couldn’t come up with a better name. Lol

As for where Kayto is, I think I might have misread what happened up to this point in the story.

So I’ll let you guys decide where to put him. Maybe whoever post next can clarify that.

(Hey guys, it seems like I’m late to the thread, but mind if my MC and I pop in?)

(Kayto is a boy about 16 years old. He grew up in the Union being trained as a soldier his whole life. He has black hair, brown eyes, and is always wearing his white Union uniform.)

Kayto blinked twice in the bright light. When his vision cleared, he found himself in the middle of a desert. There were several other people around, and all of them looked so strange. Was this a training arena? Had the Union put him here for another battle?

Kayto decides he should figure out what’s going on. He turns to a young man next to him wearing strange black and red cloths.

“Hey, are we in a training arena?” Kayto asked the young man. “What’s our objective? And what kind of uniform is that?”

                <p style=”text-align: left;”>Hi Kayla,</p>
(I’m kinda new to this forum so I don’t know anyone yet, so hi everyone.)

I would say that the best way to torture a character is to use something that would personally hurt them. So could your main character just punch the jerk character in the face? Yes, and it would hurt. But does your main character know anything about the jerk character that could be used? What if she knows about your jerk character’s family insecurities and insults her parents? Or what if she knows about your jerk character’s fear of the dark and locks her in a closet?

Overall, though, on the topic of torture, I think something to keep in mind is that hurting another person is never a good thing. We should always try to bring out truth in our stories, and we should always ask ourselves why we are adding a torture scene and examine if it is necessary. If it has a purpose to bring out truth than that’s great.

I’d love to see what you come up with! Once it’s done, if you want to share it, you should totally post it!
