*Tiptoes quietly into the room and looks around guiltily*

Hey y’all! Sorry I haven’t been on her much, but I’ve been busy. Busy as in Science Fair. But it’s done now (phew!) and I can write some parts to the story! And a hearty welcome to Rebekah 12! I believe we ‘met’ in the HTTYD forum on the Wingfeather site? Or maybe that was someone else… Either way, glad you’re here now! Rupert sounds awesome! (Yes, I do know I’m using a lot of exclaimation marks– but they’re fun!) I wrote a piece in one of my notebooks (I have a lot, and they’re all scattered across my room) and I’ll try to find it and post it (see the words in parentheses above^). I’ll end my monologue here and go look for said notebook, with said part of story in it.

*considers* Yeah, I think we probably met briefly in the HTTYD forum on the Wingfeather Saga site. And even if I’m thinking of someone else, I noticed you in collaborative stories / RPs on there anyway. Thanks for the welcome! I’m [very] happy to be a part of this.

          AMBERLEY’S POV

I barely had a moment to process my thoughts when Emberyn pulled me into a tight embrace.

“I thought I lost you.” he said, then squeezed me tighter. No more words were exchanged; we already knew what the other was feeling.

After a while, Emberyn released me and we looked at each other.

“Where are the others?” I asked, noticing the absence of our acquaintances–no, friends– from the room. Not that the room was empty–quite the opposite. Most of them were clones; which were from Star Wars. I had to tell Emberyn.

“Emberyn, listen to me,” I said. “I know where all these people are from.” Emberyn’s eyes flicked to me.

“But, how can you? We only met them today–”

“Maybe not met them face-to-face,” I interrupt. “But we both know about them.”

Emberyn looks at me, confuzzled*, but sighs and gestures for me to continue.

“Emberyn,” I say in a whisper. “These people, are from stories. Ahsoka and the clones are from Clone Wars, which is the predecessor of Star Wars. Harry, Hermione, Ron, Hagrid, and Fang: they’re from the Harry Potter Series. And Janner, Kalmar, and Leeli–” I paused, uncertain about this one.”They’re from the Wingfeather Saga, the book series we read last year while I was in the hospital.” Emberyn looks at me, stunned. “But–in the end–Janner…” I sigh.

“I know, Emberyn. I know. But we can’t do anything about it. He came back, apparently, and despite the fact we pretty much know all of these stories, there’s bigger fish to fry.”

I look at Emberyn. “Macha. She’s one of the biggest villains in Irish myth and legend.  We have to defeat her, wound her somehow. Get her back to her own world, and the rest of us back to ours.”

Took me long enough, huh? Well, here I am!!! 😀 And, Kylie, where’d you learn ‘confuzzled?’ It’s awesome! 😉

            AHSOKA TANO

His fingers are brushing the triggers, but his face is calm and composed as he keeps the guns trained on my chest. “I could ask you the same thing.”

I narrow my eyes, but before I can come up with something snarky to say, he lowers his weapons and asks, “does the term ‘Avengel’ mean anything to you?”

I tilt my head. Avengel? What is that? He’s clearly just like the others: out of this galaxy — or his mind. I straighten and sheath my green blades, although I don’t clip the hilts back onto my belt.

“No. I’m afraid ‘Avengel’ means nothing to me. But,” I smile, “do you know who Count Dooku is?”

I’m pretty sure he doesn’t, and, even if he did, he likely wouldn’t tell me anyway, but maybe by his reaction I’ll be able to gauge where he stands, if anything. But, if he is on our side, I think he’d be a strong ally.

The girl tilted her head at his words, then straightened and let her glowing green blades retreat back into their cylindrical metal hilts. “No. I’m afraid ‘Avengel’ means nothing to me.”

The girl didn’t seem to be lying. That was certainly a good sign. As far as Rupert could tell, if, as seemed likely, she wasn’t affiliated in any way with Radu Bey’s Ordo Draconis or Phoenix. Every enemy and ally of Ashtown — and the Order of Brendan in general — knew that “Avengel” was another term for “Blood Avenger,” the spear point of the Brendan.

Rupert returned his guns to their holsters, but didn’t relax fully.

“But,” the girl continued, smiling, “do you know who Count Dooku is?”

                Count  what?

“I have never heard that name before, no,” Rupe answered truthfully, guessing that she was trying, as he had, to discern whether he was friend or foe.

He was beginning to suspect that she was just as lost here as he.

                  AHSOKA TANO

He slipped his guns back into his holsters and watched me with sharp, dark eyes. “I have never heard that name before, no.”

I nod and slowly clip my lightsabers back onto my belt. I still can’t discern any evil in him, and so far as I can tell, he is trustworthy; but just like all the others, I’m still keeping an eye on him. “Well . . .welcome! My name is Ahsoka Tano. Sorry for bumping into you. It’s been a busy day; you see, I just arrived here, and I’m afraid I have no idea how. I assume you’ve come by the same force. I have several friends not far from here, as well as a small clone army.” I don’t realize that what just said might be threatening until after I’ve said it, and while I’m mentally face-palming myself, I hold out my hand. “We’d be glad to have you.”

I light the arrow, pull the bow,

She held out her hand. “We’d be glad to have you.”

Clone army? What does that mean?  Rupert decided to shove it into the corner of his mind for the time being, and figure out what to do with that little piece of information later. Ahsoka was a child, after all. What harm could she do?

He put his large hand in her small one. “Rupert Greeves, Avengel and Keeper of the Order of Brendan , at your service.”

I smiled so wide that I thought my face would burst when he put his huge, callused hand in mine and shook.

“Rupert Greeves, Avengel and Keeper of the Order of Brendan, at your service.”

I nod in acknowledgement and then turn and glance back down the hall. Looking back up at him, my face grows serious. “Sir, there’s something you should probably know. It’s not just me and my friends here. There’s this Queen of Ireland, Macha. She’s an old hag, but she’s got “magic,” or something. These jars, she opens them and they suck your energy. These owls fly around with them. We don’t know why she’s doing this, but we have to stop her, preferably alive, but dead will also suffice if need be. I was out looking for our scouts, but now we should probably get back to headquarters.” I turn and start to trot down the corridor. “It isn’t far,” I call back over my shoulder.

I light the arrow, pull the bow,

                        Hermione’s PoV

Hermione slipped out of the library and scurried down the stone halls, carrying three large tomes under her robes. She crouched at a corner and peered cautiously down the hall. The clone trooper sent to escort her, Duff, they had called him, caught up with her.

“Why are we looking at books when we could be fighting that owl woman straight on?” he asked impatiently, adjusting his blaster.

“These will give us more information about Macha. They’re all about Irish myths,” Hermione said, scanning the titles.  “Perhaps they will expose one of her weaknesses, or something that will help us beat her.”

“If we just had some more manpower we wouldn’t need to know her weakness. We’d be able to take her down by our own strength,” Duff said.

“Knowledge is a more effective weapon than brute force, in my opinion,” Hermione said primly, raising her nose.

“Whatever you say, kid. You’re the one in charge.” Duff started down the wide hall leading back to the others.

Without warning the Owl Witch materialized before him in a roar of wind and a flurry of screeching owls. Hermione screamed and Duff stumbled backward in surprise. With one deft movement Macha opened a jar and pointed it at Duff. He cried out in pain and then slumped to the floor, unconscious.

Hermione rushed forward and stood over her fallen clone escort. She pointed her wand up at Macha. With a flick of her wrist she cast an attack spell, though Macha immediately deflected the arrow of magic. Hermione prepared to attack again.

The swirling around Macha slowed, and the Owl Witch extended her claw-like fingers to Hermione.

“You are a very powerful witch, my child,” Macha said.

Hermione said nothing. Macha smiled. Her voice dripped with honey as she continued.

“Perhaps an alliance between us, two very powerful women, would be favorable. I see that you far surpass the powers and wisdom of those two boys. You deserve better than their company.”

Hermione met Macha’s bird-like eyes and stood firm. An amused chuckle escaped Macha’s lips. The Owl Witch went on, unfazed.

“You and I are equals. I can help you become what you are meant to become. I can give you power.”

“I don’t want your help, Macha,” Hermione growled. “You hurt my friends. Why would I go with you?” Hermione brandished her wand at the Owl Witch, though her hand trembled at the sudden flash of anger in Macha’s eyes.

“Are you certain you will not help me?” Macha asked, body tensing even before Hermione responded.

“Yes,” Hermione’s voice quavered. Macha screeched and seemed to grow larger as the wind and owls wailed their terrible cries.

“Remember my offer, child, and while I wait, you will experience the power that could be yours!”

Macha thrust a jar at Hermione and before she could react the magic took effect. Hermione dropped her wand and fell to her knees. With every heartbeat she felt her consciousness flowing from her. She screamed, the world tilted, and then all went dark.

What I know in my head and what I believe in my heart are two entirely different things.

Macha?  The name sounded oddly familiar to Rupert, but he couldn’t seem to place why. He’d heard — or perhaps read — it before, but where? Or more importantly, was the name that of an ally to the Order, or of a foe? Ahsoka certainly made it sound like the latter — and a particularly fearsome one at that — and Rupe found himself rather inclined to trust her.

But if there was a witch — owl, Irish, or otherwise — on the loose, why had he heard nothing of it?

Rupert inwardly shook his head at his wonderings, shoving the questions aside to be considered later, when more facts were available, and started down the hallway after Ahsoka.

Idk if any of us really know a set direction. I think it’s just kind of like, survive and get rid of Macha. Plot could definitely use some developing.
