finn sat down next to ellie who was poking the fire with a stick trying to get it going again. “so what exactly are we doing?” he asked.

    “preparing some fish for breakfast,”
He laughed, “no, i mean on this adventure or whatever”

“oh. I’m not too sure, actually. we have been heading in that direction” she pointed south, “I gues we’ll see what happens when we get there. there have been some, uh, things.” she got up and went over to julians bag and pulled out the gold pieces, “we’ve found these. we assume they will help us in the future.”

he took the pieces from her and examined each piece very carefully. “these markings look like…the old Endoverian language.”

    “Shiloa?”

“yes… I don’t know exactly what it says but I do recognize a few of the letters. See here? that’s the symbol for Thabia”

Ellie looked at Pia instantly with a sharp look

Pia stiffened. “I am not my father, Ellie. Remember that.” She murmured fiercely.

    “No, you aren’t.”

“What are you talking about?” Finn asked.

“she’s Thabian,” Ellie said with a nod.

    “Oh”

“You’re not to blame for any of this,” Ellie told her, “I would just like to know what’s going on.”

“This mentions a war, but I can’t tell who or why,” Finn said still glued to the gold pieces.

“Could it be the war between our people and Kallun’s?”

    “I’m not sure…”

(just adding in some nonexistent history XD)

“War?” Pia drew closer, prepared to defend her betrothed’s people if need be.

“Yeah, there was a war between our country and Kallun’s. When the countries were first founded, they had an alliance through marriage becoming one country, but it didn’t work out and they went at war with each other and split into two countries. Something about our country not trusting the magic of the others.” Finn explained.

“That’s why we were iffy when we met Kallun,” Ellie added, “It’s also why I can’t marry…”

Finn looked at his friend, “Maybe it’s time for us to change how things are around here. We can start by losing any hard feelings and getting along,” he said to Pia.

Pia nodded. “Right. We should all try to change something that the war brought to us. We can’t be enemies right now, because other people are getting hurt. We need to stop the true enemy.”

Kallun came walking back with an armload of fish.

“Exactly. That still leaves me wondering what these pieces say. They clearly look like they go together, but there are still pieces missing.” Finn said trying to connect the sides.

Julian was now insight also, carrying onions and even berries.

Ahhhh what?? That actually fits his character really well but it’s also kinda funny XD

“Maybe we will find them soon.” Pia took some of the fish from Kalkun and handed them to Ellie.

K’Nika followed from where Julian hand come from with an armload of something green. “Watch these, I’ll be right back!” She seemed almost cheerful as she ran to a tree and climbed it and used a vine to swing across the river again.

Pia picked up one of the long, green leaves, smiling.

(yeah! I knowww and I can’t believe I totally forgot he played the cello. xD)

    “What is it?” Finn asked.

Ellie arranged the fish over the fire and repeated last night’s process with various spices.

“Dandelion leaves. In Thabia, we drink tea made from the leaves. But I don’t know what K’Nika was planning.” Pia said.

Kallun nodded. “If we had a pot we could cook the leaves down.”

    Pia nodded.

K’Nika soon Returned with a flash and held up a small stone pot.
    He laughed.

K’Nika grinned And filled her pot with water, then tore the leaves in half and dropped them in, nestling it around the coals.

“It is to me.” K’Nika replied, “I love it.”

Pia shrugged, “I’m sure it’s good.”

Kallun shrugged. “Well it’s not a delicacy if that’s what you’re asking.”
