Alrighty thanks!
King Miles Regulus:
Looks: Tall, young adult, robust, dark-blond hair, blue eyes, a rough beard growing on his chin, and a very noble look.
Character: Noble hearted, brave, loves a laugh, defensive of others (like, will give his life to save someone he just met), and deeply cares about his friends and family.
will post a picture pretty soon,
If anyone wants to start up a conversation or duel with Miles, let me know (yes, I said duel)
July 31, 2022 at 11:18 am #151991FOUND A NEW VICTIM FOR THE CASTLE GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jk @ethan-leonard, welcome aboard!!!
You have two places your character can land in! One group, with Nithel, Nathair, Blaze and Sherlock are in a room inside a mirror being forced to admit their “greed and selfishness” or else…
The other group, Alessio and Arsene are stuck on a ferry and forced to work together, Arsene has robbed a safe and Alessio is having an existential crisis again.
Brief description of all the characters!
Nithel: Literal angel, is perfect flawless, wonderful person stuck with a buncha sassholes
Nathair: Yes, it literally translates to Snake sighhhhh and EVERYONE picked up on it. Morally dark chocolate, horribly traumatized, might possibly be capable of love might just be this crazy doomlord
Blaze: absolute sass-king, drama queen you name it. Blind dude who probably kills monsters for a living, pretty amoral but funny enough to make everybody love him…with proper social distancing, reading him not meeting him.
Sherlock: medically diagnosable as a…sociopath, was it? Psychopath? eh we’ll go with sociopath, seems to be on the “good guy” side but we’d “hate” to see him snap.
Group 2
Alessio: might lowkey have dissociative identity disorder or he might just be really good at masking and numbing. Is a good person and hates it because that means he has to actually do the right thing and that’s WORK.
Arsene: he’s a decent person but he’s trying very hard to convince people he’s not! Actually he’s just a super theatrical robber who’s really nice if he’d stop stealing.Oooh King Miles sounds cool I wanna see how everybody’ll interact with him!!!

July 31, 2022 at 11:42 am #151992bwahahaha new victim 😂😂😂 I love it
Hhrrrrrmmmm…I’ll pick him up and drop him into group 2. Unannounced. No warning. See how they react to a king wearing maybe 250lbs of armor suddenly dropping into their midst.

Haha you’ll fit right into the group, I can tell!!
btw I love your quote 😉

August 3, 2022 at 1:20 am #152077BWAHAHAHA
That is hilarious @this-is-not-an-alien.
Thank you! I do love Obi Wan lol
btw what is the setting kinda like around group 2?
August 3, 2022 at 1:24 am #152078This is Miles btw
August 3, 2022 at 9:15 am #152088Lol thanks!!
Lol Obi Wan is such a sassy character he’s awesome!!!
Oh I should’ve told you sooner!
Ok so Group 2, haha…they’re on a ship, robbing a safe fearing for their lives because some weird assassin fellow is chasing them. Right now Arsene is opening the safe with his nether powers after Alessio yelled at him for being a reckless idiot robbing a safe and now feels kinda guilty for yelling and half the room is kinda seared so the sprinklers are on and it’s basically pouring on them and there’s an unconscious lady awkwardly propped against the wall and tucked in a blanket after she tried to kill/capture them. Everybody’s having a minor existential crisis.
Lol btw, Alessio and Arsene are both 17. Alessio tends to hide and try to make himself look smaller, right now he’s wearing an oversize hoodie he stole to “blend in” (it’s…not really effective) but he pretty much always has a hood over his face, he has expressive brown-gold eyes and curly brown hair, olive skin, a scar from his forehead to his left eyebrow, and scars on his wrists the rest are pretty much hidden…
He’s also been train to fight since he was a very small child he is extremely capable if you push him far enough and he has pyrokinesis that he doesn’t know how to control but it’s triggered primarily by the desire to save life so if anybody’s in danger he’ll probably spontaneously combust 😉
Arsene *flips through the castle to his bio* ah here we are! (identical twin of Arsene Lupin) Black hair with white edges, right eye is gray and blue, while the other is gray and gold. Around 5’11 feet, somewhat slim.
Species: half dragon changeling, half woodland elf.Arsene Lupin, a masked thief, made himself at home in his prison cell. With a smaller top hat, Arsene wore a white tailcoat, with black pants, a white button up shirt, and a red vest. His mask, which hid the entire top part of his face, was red and black, resembling a fox vaguely.
He’s not wearing his mask rn

August 3, 2022 at 8:40 pm #152097Ok cool thanks
Miles looked around. He was in a small room, lit by a single lightbulb up above him. Behind him was a low bed, with a dresser at the foot of it. Over to the left was a closet with nothing in it. The back and forth motion of the room told him that he was on a ship.
Curious as to what was going on, he opened the door of the room and looked out, trying to keep his chain mail from jingling. The hallway outside was empty of people, but not light. After looking up and down the hall, Miles stepped out and began walking.
He set off, wondering where he was. He tried to remember what had been going on before he ended up here. He started thinking…and it all came back to him.
He had been leading the forces of the Mortunds, fighting the Certa of the Pugnan Empire at the city of Arx Gravicus. He specifically had been leading soldiers up the ladders on walls of the city when suddenly he felt as if he was being pulled back and away…and then he landed in that room.
He arrived at a corner. The hallway turned right here. Drawing his sword and holding it at the ready, Miles cautiously stepped around the corner.
Nothing. Is anyone even on this ship? He wondered. The answer came from a very loud buzzing noise from a nearby room. Startled, Miles whipped around to face the door from which the noise was coming from. Now instead of a loud buzz, it was a hiss and what sounded like water.
Curious, Miles cautiously opened the door, sword and shield at the ready.
August 3, 2022 at 9:35 pm #152104That night was cold. It was bitter. He saw no reason for it to be different from the other missions. But his life was changed forever that night.
“Hades, over here.”
He obeyed, approaching the commanding officer.
“When the mission is over, eliminate Dr. Carter and Special Operative Timur.”
Hades immediately knew something was wrong. “Why?”
“They’ve defected to the enemy. Now, I repeat, eliminate them when the mission is complete.”
There was nothing he could do, except calmly follow orders. Something he would regret later.
Waking up, Hades groggily stirred. Although he didn’t need as much sleep as a normal human, he was still exhausted by the black technology. Regardless of how different his physiology was, the black technology could still leave him severally crippled if overused. The link between himself and the black stardust was painful, but it was pain he deserved. He had taken so many lives in the past, he deserved pain. He should have died in that mess with the others, but he didn’t. He somehow survived with this stupid demon in his head. No matter how much pain he deserved, he was going to find a way to put that d*mn witch out of her misery
Arising, Hades heard the infernal voice. “Glad to see you’re awake!”
Somehow, the concept of being greeted by Persephone’s annoying voice wasn’t that great.
“Shut up.” Hades countered. Although he sounded completely calm, he really wasn’t in the mood for this garbage. He hated Persephone with all his heart. Not that he’d ever admit that to Persephone. He was pathetic enough, he didn’t need something else for Persephone to use against him.
“I get the impression you aren’t that happy with me.” Persephone commented in an oh-so-innocent voice.
“I don’t see how anyone can like you.” Hades bluntly stated.
He had to start over and track Alessio again. Emotionlessly, he accepted that fact. It was true, whether he wanted it to be or not. He had no clue where Alessio was on the ship, nor did he think that Persephone would help him. As he walked, he suddenly realized he wasn’t on the ship anymore. He was in a… cavern? Tunnel? Underground?
The location was unfamiliar to Hades, as it did not seem to be on Earth or Omicron. The walls of the cave were decorated like a mountain palace, but at the same time was rugged and natural.
“Accept your fear and cowardice.”
“Wait, what?”
There were others with him. A sharply dressed teen, a man in long outdated armor, a professional looking lady, and… Alessio.
“Kill them.” Persephone sang out.
Maintaining his blank state, Hades bit back his anger. He wasn’t an animal, he wouldn’t go as low as to attack a child like that.
But he was already wielding a sword at that age.
Hades tried to not think about that. Yes, he had voluntarily trained to become an Ehrenvoll Knight at the age of twelve. Officially, he graduated from Schatten School, inheriting his father’s sword, the Muramasa.
“Monster!”
On the surface, Hades appeared unmoved, but that was not the case inside his heart. Every night, he feared going to sleep, knowing he could return to them in his nightmares. He’d see their lifeless corpses, Timur and Noah clashing with him. He was tired of fighting them almost every night, tired of all the death he’d see. He was far too weak to stop any of the chaos. He had given into his spite and anger. He had killed. That was all he was. He wasn’t the neutrality the Schatten school taught, or the traitor Noah was. He was just violence and death.
“All must enter or all must die.”
Fine. Hades had no reason to live. If this was his day to die, he was okay with that.
(Well, heck. This is going to be interesting.)

August 5, 2022 at 2:00 pm #152138Amnesia gazed into the map of the mirrors. The tests were going as planned. Everything was going well, except for two variables. Nithel and Nathair.
Through powers unknown to man, Amnesia summoned the two anomalies.
“You have no guilt in this trial.” Amnesia stated to Nithel. “For you to remain here would be a waste of time. Go to the Trial of Fear and Cowardice.”
Nithel vanished, leaving the serpent.
“You are a failure. I can see why your father didn’t love you.”
Instantaneously, four spears, all from different directions, impaled Nathair. Amnesia only sat on his throne, observing Nathair’s lifeless corpse.
“Go, restart in the next trial. Be warned though, you will only have two more chances. Perhaps you will do better in the next trial.”
Nathair would restart in another mirror with the others. Now, it was time to check on the others.
Burn Nocturn. He was the guiltiest of this sin. In fact, it was his flaws that assisted in forming the mirror. Amnesia hardly had to exert any power to create the Mirror of Greed.
“Do you admit your guilt?”
Amnesia had no problem remaining in the emptiness. Burn, on the other hand, wouldn’t have much time. Five minutes at the maximum. Even now, he was desperately smoking the room to use his power effectively.
“Okay. I’m selfish. I killed people. You don’t have to lecture me on it. I know. I heard it all from Search.”
Good, he admitted it. This wouldn’t take too long.
“Look. I just…” He was making excuses. “Ya’know what. Whatever! It’s been stacked against me my whole life. Justice is a lie. Peace. Freedom. Love.”
“Do not make excuses,” Amnesia started, “You’ve committed so may sins that you can’t ever hope to make amends for all of them.”
Lacking any form of humanity, Amnesia continued. While he spoke, a black energy went from Burn’s body to Amnesia. “You are all alone. Nobody is going to care about you.”
There was nothing more to say. Amnesia left. Now he had to wait to see what the mirror would do next.
(Well, can’t wait to see how this mess ends.)

August 8, 2022 at 11:54 am #152184Sorry for the delay I am not mentally prepared to clean up this post so there might be a lot of inconsistancies, good luck! 😭✌️
#content warning: I brushed up on research for psychotic breakdowns before I wrote this
While Arsene used his powers, Alessio make almost a move to peer over his shoulder. He actually was curious despite himself. Whatever’s in the safe better worth it at least…
In the back of his mind he was still wondering. Maybe…it was worth the risk to just ask? Maybe Arsene would be willing to help him find Nithel, if not for any other reason than it might be a challenge? What did he have to lose?
You know better than that.
It could be different this time? He pleaded internally.
Sure, but anything can be used against you. If you let on you care about anything it’ll become leverage…
But he needed help.
He just didn’t know. Alessio let out a sigh. At least, he wasn’t going to ask right now. He might get a chance to but there wasn’t any point triggering himself here, they needed to keep moving.
“How long will it take to open that?” Alessio asked, probably a little impatiently, his mind starting to whir through possible escape routes. Maybe Arsene had a plan for that but his plans were very…explosive, botchable, horrible. Anywa-
There was the barest noise of the door cracking open behind them. Not good. Alessio kicked it shut with the full force of his body (which…would’ve shattered the door if he aimed it so.)
“Take as long as you need, no hurry here.” He said at Arsene, flipping out a knife. “It wouldn’t be horrible or devastating in any way if we were caught with an entire stolen safe or anything!”
Before Arsene could retort something the whole world went black, so quick it might’ve just been his imagination but now he was in an entirely different place. A cave, widen enough he wasn’t quite claustrophobic, but there wasn’t an opening. He couldn’t stand places that didn’t have at least a door or a window, some area he could get out. His heartrate was already going haywire and his breath, he was trying to keep it steady.
Just another stupid—the words were venom, they were dripping through his brain burning like acid. It was stupid he just needed to get this over, he would not be entertainment to this Castle’s sick game. Whatever happened he was not going to react-
“Accept your fear and cowardice.”
It all froze he couldn’t even think.
Coward. That was all he would ever be…?
He wouldn’t relive this he wouldn’t he wouldn’t! His vision was already shaky now like looking through a shattered, distorted glass. No nono no. He wouldn’t– he was done with it -why couldn’t he move on? Please.
‘Coward!’ Alessio gave a sharp cry like a kicked pup, shielding his face, but he still felt it smack the entire side of his face. Metallic blood inside his cheek he could taste it. But he survived, he made it why was he always getting weaker instead of stronger?
He swore he knew he wasn’t there, he was just making a scene, he wanted attention wasn’t it? SHUT IT UP, WHY COULDN’T HE SHUT UP!?!?!?
‘Why aren’t you out there fighting like a man?
‘Did I raise you like this?! ANSWER ME!’
“I’m sorry I’m sorry I’m s-sorry, I’ll do better – I promise-“ He didn’t even feel it back then but he felt it right now. Shards of glass digging between his fingers, he crumpled under the table, trapped between the wall and the sick smell of alcohol. He just wanted to show his father the wooden boat he carved his tutor said he’d be proud of it he didn’t mean to be lazy and selfish.
‘Look me in the eye when I’m talking to you!’
He couldn’t feel anything. He’d lose the ability to feel, he couldn’t even grieve, he just hated everyone in that moment. Everyone. No one could help him nobody even tried. He knew that was a lie but he knew he couldn’t stop it. No one could hear him. He hated them he hated them all he hated that they could live their lives, and he was stuck living pieces of his life forever.
“F*** you!” Alessio snapped venomously,
Nothing he could do would make these screams comprehensible.
I’m not sure what I did,
But I’m sure I must deserve this
After all, it keeps happening it has to be my fault why can’t I stop it.
I just want it to stop.
He wanted to scream, he wanted to break, he wanted something to come out, something- Because no one acknowledges hurt until you have a break down. But you can’t scream for help, you can’t act out, you can’t run you can’t fight -all you can do is stand and smile and hope no one asks any further.
He was so sick of keeping it together but he physically couldn’t cry, he couldn’t feel, he couldn’t even grief his own loss because something he lost was the piece of his heart that let his emotions out, let them process. He just didn’t have it anymore he couldn’t.
Everything shaky and blurring. He could still see the cave but it was gauzed over with the images. He was panting and trembling, terrified and furious at the same time and the emotions just couldn’t exist outside his own mind they were trapped there he was trapped there over and over and over and over and over every single day it just never stopped.
He flinched again, he kept feeling hands. Hands touching, grabbing. Lifting his chin until his eyes were- fingers tracing his cheekbone bow to his jawline. Fingers prickling the back of his spine. A hand ruffling his hair. He clutched his head with his fists trying to clench the memories back inside his mind.
“You’ll be ok…you’ll be ok…” His voice changed a little each time he spoke, like he was switching timeperiods and personas every couple seconds. He pressed the palm of his hand into his forehead so hard he could feel his own pulse through his wrists. Why wouldn’t it go away?
Who would I even be without the pain? What am I supposed to be?
I’m not a person anymore, not like everyone else.
With that…it was numb again. Not numb but, controlled. Not really controlled but it was something completely different. Perhaps his usual self, not willing to feel or not willing to show he did. Everything was too fast too hard. He can see all the images, really there. He usually knows when he’s hallucinating but now he’s not so sure.
He stares at some corner at his feet, off into space, focusing on the mild blur off the cracks in the floor, forcing himself to dissociate. It’s not hard. He did it ever time they… punished him for trying to escape. He just locked himself inside his own world.
Complete silence for several minutes. He could see it and feel it, not the real world, everything that happened. He just couldn’t hear it, audibly, his mind kept supplying the words.
His hands kept tightening and untightening. It was instinct because he still felt his wrists burning, it was still instinct to struggle out of wires, ropes, chains. His jaw was working too. For a while the only noise that registered was the sound of his breathing, low and controlled.
“Accept your fear and cowardice.”
“Why don’t you come out and face me,” Alessio said in a deathly low voice. “or are you the coward here?”
Fire flickered through his palms, it was beginning to spark through his hair. He could’ve just said what the monster wanted to hear, he didn’t know why he didn’t just give in, it wasn’t like he hadn’t told himself and been told a million times that he was a coward.
He was a coward, right?
It didn’t really matter, all he had to do was say what he’d already been telling himself for years and years and years.
“Your sins are unforgivable. You don’t have the right to demand anything from me.”
Alessio didn’t react. Not noticeably, except his head tilted a little as his eyes drifted to the side. There was an almost murderous apathy in his eyes that he was trying to control. Actually…his eyes were brown, almost gold, but in the shadows they were beginning to look as if they were flickering black.
His head hurt. He wouldn’t have seen it but the scar on his forehead shimmered faintly.
Maybe it was just a childish fancy, a sort of nightmare image that kept playing in his mind. Imagining the sensation of a whip cracking his skin…wasn’t an object so much as clawing fingers that…Everything felt like hands invading him.
He hated people so much…he hated that they still had a live and he’d already lost his before it even began. He’d never admitted to himself how much hatred he’d buried deep inside, how bitter he really was. Only monsters held that kind of hate?
“Fine.” He said “if all you care about is causing pain, take it all out on me.” He glanced at the others, and pursed his lips. “All of it. I’m too f***ed up to matter anyway.”
It was hard to tell what was going on in his own brain. He felt everything and nothing at all. Sparks of fire reflected gold along the rim of his dark eyes, there was more than a blaze around him now and it hissed and crackled like his own determination.
“You can’t handle your own sins, give up.” It said dryly. “Accept your fear and cowardice.”
Alessio gave a little huffing laugh, but then his eyes flashed with terror. He was a child, he just wanted someone to protect him. Why hadn’t anyon-? Just as quickly, fury replaced it. He just kept switching, it didn’t matter emotion, which timeperiod, which fractured piece was there none of them could process the pain.
“No!” He glared at the ceiling “I’m not a coward.”
He didn’t believe his own words, rationally maybe, but he didn’t believe it he really didn’t…But he wasn’t a coward, he was a child doing everything he could!
‘Coward.’
He didn’t want to hurt anyone. He was scared.
‘Coward.’
He was so so scared…
Whydidn’tyousavemewhydidn’tyousavemewhydidn’tyousaveme??
‘If it’s just a couple of bruises it doesn’t count.’ His brother told him that, his brother who always stood up for him, who always protected him. His brother denied all of it-at least he tried to. Alessio had barely worked up the courage to mention it and he didn’t dare admit it wasn’t just bruises here and there, there were gashes that needed stitches, broken bon- ‘He just does that when he’s drunk. Lock yourself in your room whenever he looks mad, when you’re big enough to hold your own he’ll back off.’
His eyes stung, he could feel hot tears flooding, vision shaking his insides shaking everything. He could almost audibly hear himself crack, it just snapped and he couldn’t get it back.
Then he laughed, softly, maybe just a little hysterically. Maybe he was just a little crazy, just a little. Just a little venomous, a little psychotic. It hurt so much all he could do was laugh.
“It doesn’t matter.” He mumbled inaudibly “it doesn’t matter.”
His body shook with wet laughter, his vision blurred, he was still sobbing. And he couldn’t keep control he knew it. He shot a black look in the general direction of the castle’s voice.
“Someone has to pay…that’s-there’s…too much for it to just go away…” Alessio didn’t recognize his voice, he didn’t actually know he was talking outloud, but it sounded too dry and amused with the barest lilt. “Someone always has to…hurt to…someone just has to.”
He had a knife in his hand, he’d forgotten that but now he was fidgeting with it. Not the best idea, his hands were still shaking the blade was too close to his fingers.
“You know…you know I…hate myself because…I have to hate someone…” He gritted his teeth, the realization new to him even. He hated himself so fiercely to not drive himself mad with thoughts of revenge because- “Because someone has to pay.”
@ragnarok…I TOLD YOU THIS WAS A BAD IDEA I TOLD YOU I TOLD YOU I TOLD YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@ethan-leonard (I think you’re in this magical mirror and have to admit your character’s cowardice and/or fear, if he’s innocent or won’t admit he’ll probably die or be moved to another mirror it’s mostly just for a character reaction XDDDD)To be a light to the world you must shine in the darkness.
August 8, 2022 at 11:22 pm #152198Ok thanks lol! Yeah I was kinda confused there lol.
!Warning!
!Contains mentions of violence!Miles started opening the door. Just as it was barely opened, some force slammed back into it and shut it. Startled, Miles leaped back. Inside he heard a voice say “Take as long as you need, no hurry here. It wouldn’t be horrible or devastating in any way if we were caught with an entire stolen safe or anything!”
Concerned at this point, Miles prepares to break down the door. Just as he started charging it though, all went black. Soon he found himself standing inside a small cave-like place, with no entrances or exits. Not even a window to see through. Worried at this point, Miles slowly began turning and looking around, trying to find a way of escape. Then-
“Let go of your hate for the Emperor!”
Miles looked wildly around, searching for the voice. Seeing no one in this little cavern, Miles cocked his head, curious as to what was going on.
Suddenly it seemed to Miles as if he was having hallucinations. Images were flashing across his mind-Many years ago, Miles watched as his father packed a bag full of supplies. Soon he packed it onto a horse and after a few goodbyes, he rode off. Weeks passed by, with no word from him. Not long after hitting the five month mark, Miles’ mom started to get very sad. Soon she lost all hope and within two months, died. Miles had instantly put the blame on the Emperor Saevus, feeling that he was responsible for the death of his mother and the disappearance of his father. But after the war had begun, Miles had soon found his father in the dungeons of the Lord Magus Foedus’ fortress, Arx Bellum Pare. Even though he later killed Lord Foedus, the anger had remained…
But now Miles looked back at all this. He quickly realized that the Lord Foedus was the only one responsible here. And yet still, all the pain the Emperor had caused over the years…
He felt that his anger was justified, though, because Lord Foedus had reported that he had captured Miles’ dad. And then not long after Miles set out for Arx Bellum Pare, Lord Foedus had received orders to transfer him to Arx Ardor… And also, the war. Tens of Thousands of brave soldiers dead because of one man not liking their way of thinking. Hundreds of thousands of soldiers dead in the war. And yet….
What drove Saevus to do this? Miles thought. What is behind all this?
Even as he thought that, the answer came to him…
The Evil Lord. He was the one who had taught Saevus everything he knew. He was the one who had given the Lord Magus Foedus his powers of witchcraft. He was the one who had twisted humans and created the Certa. He was the cause of all the pain and war, Miles realized. He was the one Miles needed to direct his anger at. Which after some brief thought, he did. The Emperor was just a tool to the Evil Lord.
And immediately after he came to that conclusion and let his hate towards the emperor go, an exit from the room revealed itself. Which Miles proceeded to follow.
I had to write that on the fly because I had never thought about this lol.
August 9, 2022 at 7:16 am #152201Ok thanks lol! Yeah I was kinda confused there lol.
Np! Yeah see I have the advantage here coz half the castle’s writers are my siblings so I can just ask them lol XDD
*Me, who just read Saevus’ worst regret in the other Castle.*
Oooooh
