Princess Foo started the topic Prompt War: Non-Cliche Happy Ending in the forum Announcements 7 years, 2 months ago
To battle, my fellow warriors! For on this day we hath received our mission— write a story with a non-cliché happy ending! The war ends Sunday, February 17, with a word limit of 2500 words. As your shiny new Warmaster, I shalt lead the charge into battle.
So, I liked the way we brainstormed before, with writing on a Google Docs page, but I think in the “Improving the Guild” page some people mentioned wanted to using instant messaging? Well, we have Hangouts now, so we could discuss it on there. Maybe @karthmin could open a specific group for that? Or we could try arranging a time where everyone gets on Hangouts to discuss it. Either way I will be transferring any ideas discussed there over to the Doc so we can find them all in one place. As before, we will brainstorm for a week then write and edit the next week.
Here is the brainstorming page: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1p3AL4BU3MTT5KdoBydAvdUqByf1xkYUxF5UKxwvqDHs/edit?usp=sharing
So, I have never done anything like this before. At all. So I would appreciative thoughts both positive and negative on my battle tactics.
I was thinking that people might be more responsive if we had more specific roles than a general call for aid, so I would like to ask three people to commit to writing the story, and three people to commit to editing. Of course, if you haven’t committed but want to help write or edit anyways, that would be great! I just want to make sure one person isn’t taking on the whole weight of the project. I will be one of three people committed to writing, so we need two more.
