*alights on an emerald green phoenix* Welcome to Erekdale, aka the Guild that is Destined to be the Greatest 😉

I’m your Guildmaster, Audrey Caylin. Some of you may know me from around the forum or elsewhere in cyber-univserse as a phoenix-loving, notebook and feather obsessed bookdragon and writer. I’m so glad to have you all in my guild 😀

Before you run off to look around more, I have a couple quick things I want to say:

– This place is for you guys. The point of the guilds is to grow as a writer, with other writers. Though being super active isn’t required, I can tell you from personal experience that you’ll learn more and have more fun if you are active. So find accountability partners, analyze stories, and discuss writing to your heart’s content 😀

– You may have heard of these awesome things called “Guild Wars.” There are two types of guild wars at the moment. In the first, you’re given a prompt (like describing a sunrise) and must work with your guildmates to write a short piece based on that prompt. The entry will be judged by the other guildmasters. Then there are word wars, where the guild who writes the most words in a week wins.

– Each guild has an annual theme. The theme is chosen by the guildmaster and the guild will spend the year discussing and learning about it. The goal is that by the end of the year you all will be very knowledgeable and profiecient regarding this theme. For Erekdale, I’ve chosen conflict to be the yearly theme, as no story works without great conflict. Each week, I’ll be posting questions, challenges, or assignments in the Annual Theme Discussion section.

– I’ve planned a little side project for you all that will hopefully be a continuous thing: world-building. Which world needs building, you might ask? This world. Erekdale is a place, but right now it’s very…empty. It needs things like buildings and creatures and flags and all the unique details necessary for a well-developed world. I’m hoping to get it started up in a day or two. (UPDATE: the worldbuilding thread is HERE)
