So, I missed the October critique, but I’m back with my November piece now. This is actually the first chapter of a novella that I’m writing that I posted here before for a few Alpha readers to look over. It’s only written up to chapter 4 so far, but now that my school has leveled out a little and midterms are over, I’m expecting to be able to start finishing it soon.

So, I’m going to attach the entire doc here, since I’m lazy and honestly the formatting from switching between google docs and word is terrible, so I’m not going to separate just one chapter. Also, this is the doc that I sent to my Alpha readers, so there’s a lot of notes on the sides because my alpha readers were amazing and so very helpful. I love them. XD

Anyhow, the critique piece is the FIRST CHAPTER. You’re welcome to read all the way through if you like, but I’m only asking for critique on the first chapter. Then again, hey if you want to critique the whole thing(it’s not that long, only 25 pages), go ahead. I won’t stop you. XD

So, here’s what I’m looking for:

-Hook. Is the first chapter engaging and interesting? Do you want to read more? Are you interested in the characters?

-Characters. Is Kija an interesting MC? Do you think that there are any parts that are super OOC for what you think his character is? Are you interested in what will happen to him?

-Pacing. It’s a relatively short chapter, but what do you think of the pacing? To fast, to slow…

-Setting/description. Yes, I’m famously terrible at description. But, what do you think of it in this chapter? I tried to be better about it, but I’m still learning. XD
