OKAY GUYS,

I have a lot of announcements to cover, so let’s get right into it.

– WORD WAR RESULTS: You guys worked really hard last week and I’m very proud.  Also, we won.  Our total (39,179 words) was just barely more than the second-place total.  So, nice work, hats off, and just know we needed all of y’all to get this done.  (Can’t wait until next month!)

– STORY EMBERS CELEBRATION: Today is Story Ember’s half birthday.  We’re so old.  It’s really amazing what has happened here in just 6 months and I am pumped to see what comes next.  Keep writing and hanging around and keep praying for us as we move forward with some new ideas.

-WEEKLY THEME ACTIVITIES: Will return. Next week.  Hold me to it.  (And get excited?)  I’m sorry it has been so long but it’s gonna be fun to get it moving again!

-(and finally) A NEW GUILD WAR: I know what you’re (probably) thinking.  *gasp* Already???  And yes, already.  (But on the other hand, some of you who just wrote like… all the words on your novel might be ready for a break, no?)

I want to handle this prompt a little differently than we have in the past.  I’m going to break it up into three stages:

1) Brainstorming stage, all of us will ideas (that’s a verb) and thoughts (another verb) in a google document like we have in the past.  (Here’s the link.)  This stage is open until Friday night (midnight).

2) ONE PERSON, (volunteers?) preferably one who hasn’t majorly contributed to the writing of the previous prompts, will write a piece based on our assembled ideas over a long weekend.  (Due next Wednesday at midnight.)

3) We will all spend the rest of the prompt time (Wednesday – Sunday) commenting and editing and critiquing (letting the author finalize all changes).

Sound good?

Okay then, the prompt:

“For this guild war it’s a picture prompt competition. The goal is to write a comedy based on the Mona Lisa.”

That’s all there is.  Does that strike up some ideas?  Any volunteers to write the thing?

(Also, congrats again on the word war yesterday.  We’re the undefeated wordwar champs!)
