Good evening, Ereki!

First, I have an announcement: when the other guildmasters and I met several weeks ago, we decided that the annual theme discussions won’t be “annual” anymore. Meaning whenever we feel like we’ve exhausted our exploration of a topic, we’re free to pick another one. So I have two questions for you:

1) Do you feel like we’ve exhausted the topic of conflict? Or do you still want more?

2) When we do get a new “annual” theme, what would you like it to be?

This week’s annual theme discussion is a short writing assignment. A while back we talked about how Ghosts, or something tragic in your character’s past, can be used to create internal conflict. For this week, I want you to write a BRIEF (100 to 500 words) section in which you have your character trying to achieve his goal but being held back by his Ghost. This is putting Week 8‘s assignment into practice: what does it look like for your character to be fighting against his past? How does it hold him back, and how does he fight it?
