Taylor Clogston

@taylorclogston Woot! Good luck!

@emily-d Ah, just that it gets your name out there more.

You put up info about your books, and that is always a good promo kinda thing. So, at the moment, people can see where I’m at with Storm Wielder, what the mock cover is, a snippet and the blurb.

You also have these things called writing buddies, so that…[Read more]

@taylorclogston Hah, I find Nuzlocke makes things a whole lot harder, and stressful. xD Gotta hate critical hits. *grimaces* AND YES. The remakes had some good things, but others just went downhill I reckon. *sighs* always the way…

Goodness. DnD with writers?? Are you trying to murder the DM??

Hi Parimis!

I’ve returned, and thanks for being good for a week! (And awww, you’re all so nice! I had meant that I didn’t want you to all try and rebel against me and move permanently to Jane’s guild.)

And thanks again! @jane-maree

*guildmaster hurries in late* WELCOME!!!!! @taylorclogston

And hehehe… I have no clue. *shall go and check it out cos why does everything happen whenever I’m away?*

Also… ACK YAS A FELLOW GAME PLAYER. All of the board games and card games listed: check. Pokemon crystal: check. (Admittedly, I would have put the next generation above that one,…[Read more]

@julia @evelyn Ooh, I like Settlers of Catan, Pandemic, and 7 Wonders, even though I don’t own them. I’ve only ever played them at my friend’s house. 😛 I also like playing Apples to Apples, Battleship, Trouble, cribbage, and pretty much any card game except hearts.

Also, welcome to Parimi Alca, @taylorclogston! Our land isn’t so strange. *looks…[Read more]

@taylorclogston He has… a couple actually, but those were computer games.

@taylorclogston Haha, yes.

It went something like this: Everyone takes a turn at monopoly before rotating to Heroscape, and then Risk, and then Monopoly again, and Heroscape etc. How they are related goes like this: Monopoly money buys figures for the Heroscape board, killing an opponent’s person at the Heroscape board earned you troops for Risk,…[Read more]

@taylorclogston No problem 🙂

@evelyn I love 7 Wonders! 😃 I like best being Olympus on side B. 😉 How about you?

@taylorclogston @h-jones @parker

Thanks guys!  Really appreciate your feedback, encouragement, and support!

@taylorclogston I’m afraid of all those games you sent, I’ve only ever played Catan. BUT I LOVE IT! Some of my other favorite games are Pandemic, Wise and Otherwise, Dutch Blitz, Seven Wonders (duel version preferably), One Night Werewolf, and the Homeschool Game, to name a few. I really enjoy playing games! And I just like playing a good…[Read more]

@taylorclogston Hey! Welcome! Glad you’re here!

You do game designing?? Dude, that’s way too cool!

What are your favorite games? And what’s it like designing them?

@parker I know, right?  It’s so hard to see my own mistakes, but other people’s just jump out at me. 😉
@h-jones You’re awesome! <3
Good news!  I decided to give it a go!  Doing NaNoWriMo for the first time ever, and this is definitely motivation to get it done.  🙂 You convinced me!
@storyjoy Thank you!  That’s so encouraging.  I have no idea…[Read more]

@scribbles Such great questions!

I think it all comes down to opinion in some cases (chapter titles, chapter length – me personally, I love chapter titles [adds personality!] and a good chapter length for me is kind of in between short and long [longer chapters than 1-2 pages but shorter than like 20-or-more full pages], like @rolena-hatfield s…[Read more]

@parker Thank you for showing me those places – I didn’t realize there were so many.  Ever since someone told me how many I used to use (and there were a lot more than just these) I have been struggling to change that.  I’m glad you noticed!
I love that Spurgeon quote, too!  So true and so motivating!

Good points. Thanks! I’m not serializing, but I’ve thought about doing that at some point, so I will definitely keep that in mind if I do! 🙂

@brandon-miller

Ugh, it’s so annoying when other people are good at stuff. Lol. Thanks for trying. 😛

@parker

Cool. Thanks for the input! 🙂

@libby You’re more than welcome! 🙂 Oooh, Sergio has a backstory!? *gasp* Ya know, this is the sort of tale I think I’d be interested in reading. If you ever do more with it, I’d be happy to be a beta. *thumbs up*

Personally, I like the word “cell,” but yeah it really is all up to you. xD

Also, @taylorclogston has a lot of amazing advice that…[Read more]

@wordsmith: alright, well lets start with a fun one! why does Elijah get to summon bears to beat up the kids who were mocking him? I know its kinda strange but it just seems to go against Jesus whole “turn the other cheek” message and God seems to be more like a weapon in these such passages…

Aw shucks. I knew that high fantasy was probably a thing, but I hadn’t heard of mythic fantasy being an actual subgenre…

Typically, I share your frustration with labels, Taylor. I’d like to think that the best stories break genre definitions in some way, and those definitions only exist in order to loosely tie a conglomerate of…[Read more]
