I think you don’t have to worry about your male characters coming across as unmanly (except where it’s appropriate :)). Giving the character a memorable personality, like what you’ve done, is what the masculinity builds off of.

I think it’s quite realistic for a man to feel insecure, men might just feel it about different things than women, or act upon it in different ways.

Yeah, he wouldn’t get addicted to the drugs, it was given to him once so he would be able to function as he’s being rescued.

Yeah… this character is really messed up… I love writing him, and I am giving him a happy ending (as happy as it could end) but still… he’s not ok 😬. He really needs a therapist. -

So research can be as simple as google and youtube and as complex as a peer-reviewed article from a publication journal. the trick is just making sure you’ve got reliability so always look for information provided by universities, or professionals and just check those resources against each other for discrepancies. Does anyone also know if there could be a pain-killer strong enough to ease physical wounds in pill-form?

For severe pain: opiates ie. morphine, codeine, oxycodone, hydromorphone etc. Or plain old opium if going for a more old school/medieval type approach to medicine. Mild pain: Asprin, Ibuprophen. Asprin is a derivative from certain trees, people used cocaine leaves in the past. How severe is “your pain” and what medicinal method would you like to use?

I don’t see why not. He could use even fentanyl if he had to (it is used in medicine sometimes). Analgesics (pain meds) basically block the pain signals in the brain or nervous system. There are tons of pain meds so that seems perfectly fine to me. Just, uh, watch your guy for physical dependence and addiction cause a fellow with that much…[Read more]

I was wondering if any of you would know the effects it would have on the body to have electrocution as a form of torture for a few days?
If a person had their arms chained so they were forced to stand for about 24-12 hours as well, what would happen to the body then?

Thank you! that would make a lot of sense, I’m still trying to figure out the details of a character, and I was toying with the idea that his ears were cut off as a baby because he’s part human, part a race that has pointed ears (telepathic elves essentially, called Enteks), or leaving him as just human.

Thank you! I totally get it, when I was a kid, our minivan’s tires broke because of those temperatures, but at least school was cancelled and we got to go to I-Hop 😂.
