@theresa-play I like almost all of those! (If I’d remembered you were Alia, I’d have known you like those musicals, but…oh well. 😉 New names are so confusing!) Now I’ve got to go back and listen to the soundtracks of Anastasia and Seven Brides for Seven Brothers again. It’s been too long since I have! 😛
Ok, I can recommend a couple of…[Read more]

I was gone too long again. I feel like I missed so much! First of all, hello @lin! 😀 Welcome! That’s a very interesting selection of time periods/places you like! Have you read the Viking Quest series by Lois Walfrid Johnson? And how old are you? (If you’re willing to say.)
I see the confusion about @valtmy was resolved, but I’m here…[Read more]

@theresa-play Are you still here? Probably not. But anyway, I’d love to introduce you to a new musical, if you like! But first, what are a couple of musicals you liked? Because I’d recommend ones based on the style you prefer.
(Also, I keep trying to remember, but never can…what was your KP name?? 😛 )

I stand with @ashira and @selah-chelyah, as I’m sure you were suspecting. 😉 Historical accuracy is important. However, I come close to “alternate history” when I read old sci-fi books. If, say, there’s a sci-fi or dystopian novel written in the 40s about the then future 80s, well, that’s technically alternate history, since it ne…[Read more]

@jenwriter17 I have seen very little horse competition. I have seen a polo match, though, which was very interesting!
@theresa-play I’m going to go now too. Happy writing!

@jenwriter17 One thoroughbred – brown. And beautiful! 😉 One paint – mostly white, some brown and black.
As for riding them…well, unfortunately they haven’t been ridden in two years, so, we’ll have to retrain them. We have scheduled with a trainer to come over and give us a few pointers. Once we do have them retrained, we’ll be riding We…[Read more]

@jenwriter17 Unofficially this December, officially the middle of next year. (The graduation ceremony is in August.) I’ll have to take the bar exam and everything though, so I won’t really be done with law school for at least another year and a half.
What’s Raindrop therapy?
Oh, and that reminds me. I don’t think I ever told you that we re…[Read more]

@jenwriter17 I’ll definitely be looking forward to it. 😀
Law school is going fine. How about you? What type of studies are you doing?

@jenwriter17 Yes, I’ll definitely want readers and lots of feedback once the first draft is finished. Though it probably won’t be for a while yet, at the rate I write! 😛
I completely understand vague. 😉 But I’m glad you’re still working on it, and will be waiting for a chance to finally find out how it ends!

@jenwriter17 I’m reviewing what I’ve written in Daughter of Judas to get back in the mood for writing it. (I haven’t written anything for a little while.)
Do you have an estimate for when you’ll have the next draft completed? I still want to read it! 😉

@jenwriter17 Hello!!! It’s been way too long since we chatted, hasn’t it?
Are you still working on the sci-fi dystopian I read the first half of? I think you said you were doing a complete rewrite last time I talked to you.
@snapper I’m doing fine. (I know that’s the most cliche way to answer, but I can’t think of anything else to say. 😛 )…[Read more]

@ashira 😛
I suppose it’s because I don’t know many people here, and I’m not in a guild. Outside of the guilds, the forum seems to be visited pretty infrequently and I haven’t seen many topics I was interested in. I do love this topic though!

@michelle Thanks for the clarification. 🙂
Okay, it’s Sunday tomorrow, so I’ll not be on again until Monday. I’ll give you a quick few notes for now, and we can discuss more later if you like.
In the 1800s and early 1900s (until 1937 when Ireland won its freedom) the Irish were treated very badly by the British, who ruled them. The Irish, l…[Read more]

So you just want a general overview of “surviving poverty throughout the centuries.” 😛 Let’s start off with the fact that poor people always have it rough. That’s what being poor means. 😉 So saying that it was particularly bad for poor people in the last two centuries feels a little wrong to me. I would more likely say poor pe…[Read more]

@michelle Okay, let’s go. 😀
The first thing I’d like to say is…that’s a very broad question! 😛 It’s very hard to answer as it is phrased now. Could you give a little more context? Like, are you writing something for a specific period, a specific place? or are you writing about “poor people throughout history? or what? 😉 If you could na…[Read more]

@michelle Hey, I haven’t met you yet, probably because I was absent from Story Embers for a while. But I used to follow this thread and I noticed your question so I’m wondering, are you still looking for an answer to this? It’s been a while since you posted, so I just thought I’d check. 😉

I’m doing great. Haha, sorry for inadvertently causing confusion in your notebooks. 😛 Actually, my username comes from two actresses I like (not necessarily my favorite actresses, but I just kept trying names until I found one I liked) Rochelle Hudson and Jeanne Crain. So yes, it’s actually from Rochelle. 😉
