I’m so sorry. *swoops in with chocolate milkshakes* Let me know if there’s anything I can do! (Also I admire your outlook on this – I think a lot of people forget that, for Christians, death means life.)`

I’m so sorry, I promise I’ll pray for your mother and for you and all your family. And I can ask my mom to pray for you too, she’s formation director at the lay Carmelite Order so she’ll probably add you to the prayer requests there! I pray things get better for you soon <3 *hugs tightly*

Titles are just the worst arent they? I like yours @rose-colored-fancy, they’re more unique than most book titles. I literally walk into a book shop seeking great fantasy novels – and all I get are copycat titles. A court of this and that. The heir of this and that. Please people, at least try to be creative :/
My series itself is gonna have o…[Read more]

Hey guys! I’m considering uploading a recording of my WIP extract, but first I would love to know where you get the music and sounds. And what recording apps do you use?

Hi Brian, it was cool listening to this piece! I liked it!
1. Is there anything that stood out to you as intriguing about this scene?
There was quite a sense of impending doom, it was quite interesting since I was wondering if the harpies (?) were going to attack.
2. What would you say the mood was of this…

Sorry for the late reply!
First of all, I really like your titles! They’re really cool!
Find that short key concept for a unifier and that may help.
That’s a good idea, and I’ll definitely consider it! Though, I do notice it gets used more for series longer than three books. Trilogies usually have independent titles…[Read more]

Oh I do like those last few titles, I didn’t think you needed to change the title until I saw those, verrry nice!
I see everybody’s already noted the symbolic and plot-relevant angle for titles but another thing you might consider is looking up on Amazon your niche genre and get as niche-y and niche-y can be and look at the pattern for…[Read more] -

@obrian-of-the-surface-world that makes sense. It’s easy for people to praise the idea of communism when they haven’t experienced it first hand. Good luck with your WIP – and your drawing!

@obrian-of-the-surface-world I completely agree with everything that you are saying. My point is that often times we have a tendency to see history as very black and white – when there is no true white. History shows us that the Soviet Union was a very wicked and cruel dictatorship, and to dispute this is to invalidate the very real e…[Read more]

@obrian-of-the-surface-world thank you for being understanding 🙂
I was inspired to set this story in a similar situation after reading “A Short History of Nuclear Folly.” It was incredibly eye opening, because for a long time I had assumed that the Soviets were the “bad guys” in the conflict. The Soviet regime was horrible and oppressive, b…[Read more]

@obrian-of-the-surface-world You’re completely right about the Silmarillion – it really is just a collection of notes and world building, and it shows. But, I really enjoy it because the characters are just so real. I love lotr, but it often feels like there are a lot of characters who are just “good,” and there’s not much else to their p…[Read more]

Hi everyone!
I’ve been
overthinkingrethinking the titles of my series. As most of y’all know, the series in question is a fantasy trilogy in a desert setting. With that for context, onward to the titles.
The initial idea was:
- The Tribe of Sand and Azure
- The Assassins of Mountains and Moonlight
- The Crowns of Blood and Thunder
There are…[Read more]
