@literatureforthelight Okay, I think I can do that.

Here’s what I’m planning on doing:

Written in first person present tense. He’s a concert pianist that plays jazz. It’s backstage just before the first concert, and he can’t find his hat. And he’s deathly afraid of going onstage without his hat. But his tour manager comes up and urges him to go anyway. He goes on and flubs big time or has a nervous breakdown (I’ll see what happens when I get there). Then he hears his late wife singing their song behind him (link to the song I have in mind below). They talk. Not exactly sure how that conversation will go, but she’ll urge him to let go of her and move on. To trust in God, instead of telling himself that he can’t go on without her.

Not sure how it will end, but I’ll work that out when I get there. That’s about as definite as I can get. If I try to get any more specific, I’ll lose interest in the whole thing.

What do you think? I hope you like it, because I kind of already started. :-j

Here’s three versions of the song I have in mind. It also captures the mood I would like this piece to have.

    Jonny Mathis sings Misty

    Ella Fitzgerald sings Misty

Erroll Garner (the composer) plays Misty

And just for kicks, this song also captures the mood I would like to go for. It’s also one of my favorite jazz standards, and one that I think our MC will be able to relate to. At least on some level.

Glen Frey sings The Shadow of Your Smile
