Hmm, yes. I can identify! I do work on writing more than one WIP at once, although it is just setting others up while I write just one. I don’t think I could actually try to write more than one at a time. 🙂

Hey, welcome to the his-fic thread! 🙂
Hey, she’s here! 😀
*double high-fives*
Great question! I love stuff that makes you think… 😛
I believe that you should portray the typical beliefs of people in the given era correctly…so they should have the historically correct…[Read more]

YAY!! You came over! *throws confetti* 😄
Um…*cough* heh…that conversation was kind of embarrassing, because the story was pretty horrendous and I really had no idea what I was talking about. 🤦

Here’s our discussion question for the week. It’s a bit more serious than the last few and I’m really interested to hear your opinions.
How do you, personally, strike a balance between historical accuracy and ideas and beliefs that are now considered outdated or offensive (for example, views on slavery, colonialism, women, etc)?

Welcome to the best thread on the forum! It’s always exciting to add a new historical fictioner, because we’re a little bit rare around here. 😀 I can’t wait to have you participating in our discussions!

Yeah, perfectionism is a hard one to overcome. 🙁 Aw, that has to be so frustrating..not being able to come up with ideas. I hope it becomes easier in the future!
Hey, that’s perfectly okay. We all work differently…and that’s the way it should be. 🤗

Aghh! Yes, that’s exactly how I am! Perfectionism has almost killed my writing over the past few years, but slowly, very slowly, I’m learning how to ignore the critic in my head and just focus on writing.
That’s awesome that you are task oriented, because I am not. And sometimes I wish I was. I have like five projects…[Read more]

Wow, but I understand what you are saying about writing! 😀 I am the same way…perfectionist, and have to remind myself to just work on what I have going and finish it, then do the next idea. (I have over 20 WIP’s, which does not help, lol!) But that is the only way I can function.

Okay, I’ll put Jane Eyre on my already massive TBR. *watches mournfully as afore mentioned list stretches out to infinity* Ahh, the struggles of being a book worm. 😉
Yeah, Dickens can be a little confusing sometimes but his amazing characters and his engaging prose always makes up for it, at least in my personal…[Read more]

Yes, I agree…that is why I like that book so much, too. It is outside the box of most “romances” set in that era, and I love that!
So true! I am always trying to immerse myself as much as I possibly can in a given era for writing…it takes a lot of work, but it is so worth it! 🙂

Yes, I’ve heard such good things about Jane Eyre and I really want to read it soon. I love both those Dicken’s books…although my siblings say I’m weird for liking Great Expectations. 😛 When you start reading more of Dickens, make sure you read David…[Read more]
