That’s definitely a struggle. I had that problem with my latest MC. I think the key is just by the end they need to know it’s wrong. A misguided character who thinks they are right will spend the book glorifying their cause. But if in the end you show why it was actually wrong, you should be safe.

@samberg0 those are all such excellent points. I definitely agree with you. It’s hard to accept our limitations sometimes, but very necessary to moving forward and being productive.

Yay for being done with school!!
This story concept sounds awesome. Love it. I think you should definitely run with it. As for how to keep it short…I have no idea. I pretty much only write novels anymore. But I’m sure you can do it!!

@kari-karast yassss! Thatta girl! I do that all the time (when I’m not the one driving lol). Absolutely love it, and sometimes some of those random pieces end up fitting perfectly into the story later on. So much fun.

@duskflower I 100% agree and relate! I’m revising the fourth draft of my dystopian right now, and it feels like pulling teeth, but I’m middling along. Sometimes it helps me to have a backup project once I get to the stage that I’m several drafts in to a story.
