One thing I will do is list a few emotional scenes that I know are going to happen, and then when I’m in that kind of emotional state (disappointed, angry, sad, ecstatic, etc.) I will write it then, using my emotions to fuel my writing and helping me to feel what my character is feeling.
For example, I was feeling very frustrated recently and I…[Read more]

Kendra Lynne started the topic What have you always wanted to see in the dystopian/futuristic genre? in the forum Story Analysis 6 years, 9 months ago
I am currently in the process of writing a dystopian/futuristic story for Camp Nano and I was curious… what are some things you’d like to see/read in that genre that you never have? Or, what are some elements you’ve liked in those types of books? Just the general idea, element, character type, etc. I am not going to copy or imitate anybody or…[Read more]

@ericawordsmith *takes a deep breath* I suppose we can have different opinions on Han Solo. I think he’s awesome, and really the best thing about Star Wars 4, 5&6. But that’s just me. 😛 *pats myself on the back for keeping my dragon-fire down*
Anyway. And yes, I love time-travel. I’m quite the quirky person. 🙂
It’s nice to meet you!

@ericawordsmith I just wanted to say that when I read the quote “Mordor, Gandalf. Is it left or right?” on your profile, I just about cried. Happy tears, of course, but with a hint of sadness. *hugs middle earth tight*

@scribbles First of all, I love the title you chose for your forum thread. It seriously made me smile. Secondly, it is so good to meet another kindred spirit through Story Embers!! One of the best things about this site is all the writing folks. Wait, it’s almost entirely populated by writers because it’s a writers’ site? Crazy… XDD
Anyway,…[Read more]

@middleearthmusician WELCOME MEM! It is so good to have you here. Thank you for tagging me so that I could welcome you properly. *winks several times* Well, since I already am very well acquainted with you (irl and online) there isn’t much for me to ask… except one thing. Why does Beethoven never eat pretzels?
(oh and by the way, if you ever…[Read more]

I think that said should be used in moderation, but I do not think it should be taken out of the picture completely. I think that sometimes I would get tired of hearing every single person do SOMETHING each time they spoke, for example, Una whispers. Gertrude hisses. Una stutters. Then Gertrude growls. They never simply say anything, and it would…[Read more]

Kendra Lynne replied to the topic Help! Why does my villain want to turn everyone into wolves?? in the forum Apprentice Island Writing Discussions 7 years, 1 month ago
@ncstokes The story is quite complicated because my three main characters’ story-lines/destinies/arcs are closely tied in with the antagonist and each other. The conflict really is restoring Wyrel to who she was meant to be (instead of the simultaneously wolf/girl creature) and defeating the sorcerer while at the same time keeping all three out of…[Read more]

In the story I’m plotting for April Nano, the main villain is a sorcerer who has a way of turning people into ravenous-wolf/human creatures (NOT werewolves! I haven’t decided what to call them yet), but I haven’t quite decided/come up with the reason behind it. What happened in his past that made him want to grow an accursed army of…[Read more]

Hi Jenna, I just wanted to say that I have been reading your blog posts, even though I haven’t been able to comment. For some reason when I try to log into WP on there it doesn’t work, but I have been reading… and enjoying. 🙂 I love your Project Inspire idea!!
