It’s Okay to Not Just Be a Writer
For the first ten-to-twelve years of my life, I went through a lot of different versions of “I want to be a -BLANK- when I grow up.”
I want to be a superhero. I want to be a firefighter. I want to be a donke…[Read more]

Hey guys!
It’s time to begin writing in earnest! We’ve got our plot in place and at least one writer has volunteered to take up the reins here. We do need more writers (if you already volunteered and I missed your name, I dearly apologize). But we are clear to go, and need to make progress on this puppy so we can unleash our editors.
But first,…[Read more]

We did a lot of brainstorming yesterday! We got more detail down than we normally do for these wars, but I think that is important for a mystery.

We need to start making brainstorming decisions. The deadline for brainstorming is Friday. So, I have made up a victim, setting, half-a-motive, and weapon. Feel free to stop me if you have another idea. We can tweak it as much as needed.

@princess-foo You’re welcome! Glad I could provide a new angle to the discussion. And btw, I personally find the storyline of Character B more sympathetic. I don’t think I can say it is objectively more sympathetic. Reading over what I wrote above, I may have been a little imprecise in some of my wording about Character A’s…[Read more]

Hello again, Ereki!
Boy, you are all getting a whole bunch of emails from all the tagging I’m doing tonight. XD I promise, there won’t be a whole lot more of them. Tonight. 😛
But anyway, I’m happy to announce that we have two new guildlings with us!
Please welcome @michael_stanton and @caserola! Because this is so close on the heels of our…[Read more]

Hey Ereki!
The guildmasters have been thinking once again.
As you’ve noticed, activity has been pretty low here. Same with the other guilds.
That’s fine if everyone’s busy, but if it’s just because the guilds weren’t attractive enough…
…well, we should do something about that then.
After talking it over with some of the other SE staff, we h…[Read more]

Apologies for the lack of posting last week. I was camping (with some local Story Embers peeps!). But here I am again, and I’ve decided that we’ll host a double-feature discussion this week. @kelly-lundgren I also have this problem. I have typically written shorter things, so it’s pretty easy to just share bits and pieces… But then you never get the wholistic feedback you actually wanted from the get-go… XD

@seekjustice Those are good ideas.
@kelly-lundgren I had a hard time getting excited about it as well, although that may have partly been because of the prompt, which I did not connect with AT ALL. I think we will go back to multiple writers next time.
