I’ll read and have critique by today or tomorrow.
For future reference I suggest posting a Google Drive or similar link so you can take your story down after you’ve received advice. You don’t have any ability to delete or edit an SE post after a short initial period.

Hi friends! I would welcome any critiques on my short story “A Chance of Hope.” I need to submit it to the short story contest by next Tuesday, so I would appreciate if you could give me feedback by this weekend.
Thanks so much!

@selah-chelyah On the novel marketing podcast, they talked about a form of book pirating where nefarious third party companies will take your book and createΒ their own print on demand version, price it lower than yours, and I guess that sometimes let them steal the buy now button on Amazon, meaning people are buying from them, not…[Read more]

Thanks, Jenna! I found the place to purchase them and all, and learned about them, I just didn’t know what others’ experiences might recommend. π

@selha-chelyah That’s so exciting that you’re publishing! π I’m not published yet, but I hope some of the research I’ve done can help you… About ISBNs, you can purchase them from here (in bulk, even, which saves money). And I believe they have an option to buy barcodes as well. But if you’re publishing with Amazon, I think they generate the…[Read more]

Okay, so for those of you who’ve published a book, I have questions. π I’m planning to publish my first book by the end of August at the latest (hopefully!), and have been researching said things…there’s just a lot to juggle and figure out.
What’s the best way to purchase ISBNs? What size lot did you purchase? I’m thinking at least two…[Read more]

The team actually doesn’t have a name yet. π I’ll have to work on that!
That’s a cool name! Love it! π

Basketball, yes! It’s not my very favorite sport, but it’s still a really good one. Both my parents played in college.
What’s Jordan’s team called? My high-school football team is called the Mapleton Moose.😝 Funky kinda fits the school.

I’m glad you like them! π
She meets him at school. To tell how she helps him would give away too much of the story! π
Yes!! Jordan LOVES basketball and he’s amazing at it!!!!! π

Oh! I like it!
Do you know what they’re personalities are? As in, specifically, from a personality test or something.
I like the dynamics with Crystal’s cheerful outlook. If you don’t mine sharing, how does she meet him, and how does she help him?
Does Jordan do sports? (Just a random question😉 Partly because I love…[Read more]

WOW! This took me a really long time! Sorry about that.
Okay I’ll tell you about Jordan Vickery and Crystal Meyers
Jordan Vickery: (usually goes by Vick)Β He is 17 rather tall and well built with straight shoulders and strong muscles. He has very dark brown, really curly hair and dark brown eyes. His face has a sardonic, melancholy…[Read more]

@arindown Awww, thank you!! In all fairness the bookβs in the editing stage so Iβve had a while to develop them… which I kind of love doing with all my heart. 😝 And YES, Har is hands-down an ISTP-T. He can definitely be assertive, but yeah, heβs shy. 🙃 Plus, his PTSD contributes to that side of his personality. 😉

Hi everyone! What is everyone writing? I currently don’t have a romance WIP, but I usually have hints of it in my other stories.
I have a question: How should I build romance? I want to hint at it, but I don’t want it to be in your face. If it helps, my female character is ISTJ and grew up alone most of her life. My male character is ESFP…[Read more]-
Hi Ella,
It looks like your question has been here a little while, but I suppose I could throw in my two cents anyway, since I had a similar setup in my first book (except the girl was the more outgoing one.) I actually don’t think the pacing of your romance is too much dependent on whether your character is more introverted/quiet, or…[Read more]-
Sorry for not getting back to you, Zee! Thanks for your advice! I’ll definitely think about what you said. Appreciate it! 🤗
