@anne-of-lothlorien I love the second to last one- the watercolorey one. I don’t understand much of what goes into graphic design, so did you paint it, or did you just arrange it? 🙂

I don’t see a problem with the faces that are specific to the fact they are males. I find that not all men have the most stereotypical man face and not all girls have these soft tiny features we are known for. So there isn’t a problem that i can see specific to drawing male faces, but rather, I can see a few simple things that just go with d…[Read more]

@e-jo3 I’m glad to hear you tried it out of your comfort zone by just coming up with it yourself! I think you will improve well in time by doing this.

@e-jo3 Not too bad for your first time in krita 🙂 Nice work!
You’ve mentioned before you like copying art but it doesn’t often turn out how you want it to without copying. Is this one free-style or copied? Do you find digital art easier or harder than traditional art? -

@dragonpearlninja Welcome to the guild, we’re happy you joined 🙂 . Sorry I’m late in welcoming you!
Are all the drawings of original characters, or are they all fan art?
I would love to see one of your watercolor pieces some time. Watercolor is one of my favorites! -

@writerforever Thanks for sharing that story. Although it may come off as irritating, it must be a blessing having a dad that holds you accountable in your art. It’s hard to really know the effect our art will have, and it all just seems like such a gray area.
@sageinthemeadow Those are some good points 🙂@everyone It really is interesting to…[Read more]

@the-fledgling-artist I really liked what you said, about not offending our more conservative fellow Christians. Good thought!
@normalpeople And just so you know, I really am interested in what you guys have to say, despite my odd opinion on the matter. I know some of you like fanart.. Spill the beans and tell us!

I am interested on people’s perspectives on this topic, actually, I have been for awhile now..hehe..
I don’t think fanart is wrong but I see it as a “promotion”, I think whatever you draw, you are advertising that as something good, unless you clearly portray it in the picture not to be. So I think if I were to draw Kylo Ren, when I show it to…[Read more] -

I’ll just retype it! I realized after talking to someone that messages sometimes disappear after being edited, and I think that is what happened, now.
The interview surprised me, Andrew had a lot of good thoughts I didn’t know could have existed. On a side note, I hadn’t listened to his music before, but now I love some of it.
My favorite thing…[Read more] -

I saw that it posted earlier but it’s gone now -

In a couple areas of life, it feels like my value is dependant on my skill(art included). Anyone can pray for me that I wouldn’t feel stressed to measure up to a certain standard, knowing that my treasure and worth is in Christ and not my own abilities.
But for my art.. I just don’t know. I feel called to use my unique gifts for God, drawing bei…[Read more] -

@christieaton Thanks for showing us that last piece. I know it is good to show people the art you don’t think turned out well, but it is not something I do often (Actually.. I don’t show any of my art often!).

@slisby I love your art style, it’s soo adorable! How long have you been doing digital paintings? I really like the last full body picture. Is she an original character? 🙂

@slisby Ooh I love Sara’s art! I do not watch her much now, but she was a huge influence and inspiration for my own art.
edit: Do you have a youtube channel? -

It took quite a LOT (too many) words for me to articulate what I think, but now that I read everyone else’s thoughts I’m blown away.
@sageinthemeadow Good point! It does seem inspiration compels you to recapture beauty in a unique way.

@christieaton
I tentatively think that people simply get inspired by something that they see as good, or something that impresses them because they can recognize the skill and craftmenship in something, or maybe just simply the beauty of it.
Inspiration energizes the creator, or somehow moves them to create. I am not sure how that part w…[Read more] -

@christieaton It took me awhile to notice anything to do differently besides stylistic preferences. Good job! How often do you do acrylic? Anyway, it seems the girl is standing on the horizon line, but that’s all.
