One thing that we could do is have a lot of the events in the novel impact character relationships. That way both plot and relationship development are side by side – as the plot advances, so does the relationship.

Oh, wow, that sounds really exciting. I really need to up my word count this week, I’ve been a bit busy lately and this will serve as a good motivator.
