@millennium-m, same!!
I NEVER EVER know how to start, so I always end up revising the first half of whatever I’ve written. super frustrating.
thanks, @faith_blum!

@faith_blum, there’s a lot of different things on our list. Altogether, there are twelve “challenges”. Our first one is “A picture is worth a thousand words”. We each chose a picture (something online, or something drawn, ect.) and our goal is to write exactly 1,000 words based off of the picture.
There is a bit of variety & I left a lot of…[Read more]

@faith_blum I have a question. If you are drawing your book (graphic novel) would drawing a word like “Bus Stop” on a sign count as words? And also, do sound effects count? (blam, pow, that kind of stuff)

Libby replied to the topic Word War #3 in the forum Announcements 7 years, 8 months ago
@faith_blum alright. Thank you for making that clear. 702 is still my word count. Too bad, got it up to 1,305 last night. 🙁 Hope what I have still helps, though.

@faith_blum wait! We can still write tonight? Meaning, Wednesday night?

Me too! I am a newbie this year, so if anyone (@faith_blum, @jenwriter17, @christianna-hellwig) has any tips for navigating the site, they would be more than welcome!
and @christianna-hellwig and @jenwriter17, I am so excited for you! it takes a lot more gut to do it a second time than it does a first. Way to go!

@faith_blum I think the third book in the Out of Time trilogy has a really dramatic opening and a killer first line: I wake in a coffin. Gives me chills. 😉

So far…a measly 533 words. @faith_blum I have the same question as @DragonGeek Do the words written today count?

@faith_blum *rubs hands together* Haha, yes, they are connected, and that will be revealed as the story progresses! Muahahaha!
I’m glad you liked it, though. 🙂 That makes me feel a good bit more reassured.
Also, as a side note, did you get my message about my hiatus…? I’m not sure if public messaging works, but I did want to let you know that…[Read more]

@faith_blum Ooo, yay! I love hooks! As someone who leans more to the pantser side of writing, that is the part that usually comes to me as an idea.
My favorite series is the Chronicles of Narnia. The first page of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe starts with what would seem to be a generic “once upon a time” line. It is a narrative, kind of…[Read more]

@faith_blum Hey, just wanted to let you know, it’s actually not as crazy over here as I thought. I officially revoke my hiatus. 🙂 But, it is still a little chaotic, so if I don’t pop up for a while… that’s why. xD Thank you for your kindness!

@h-jones It’s been quite a while since I first popped up on SE and introduced myself as the New Girl. But remember that convo we had about my standalone novel, the one about abortion? I read it again and saw that you said to let you know when it was out. Well, last month, I published “The Cry of the Lost”. It’s officially on Amazon and Barnes and…[Read more]

It’s…epic. A page like that was actually something I had in mind to improve the guilds. As it was, I didn’t even know what guilds existed and the history of the guild wars. I love the emblems for each guild, too
