This is beautiful! I’ve been learning to balance joy and sorrow lately. I’m naturally optimistic, and it can be hard to not be abrasively happy when others are going through a hard time.

@kimlikesart I’ve never heard of those but am looking for some new books/authors – I’ll check them out!
I love Catan too!
My favorites are Running for my Life by Lopez Lomong and Little Women. Melanie Dickerson and Jane Austen’s books are pretty good too 🙂

Hey Gracie! I’m pretty new around here, too. I love historical fiction! I’ve written some contemporary but historical fiction is definitely my favorite. It’s cool that you’ve written about several eras in the Bible – everyone just says “Bible times” but really it was written over thousands of years. I’m homeschooled too (what a surprise lol). What…[Read more]

Personally, I try to keep the 3-act plot structure in mind but don’t strictly follow it.

I have a few close friends would be considered reserved. For a while, #1 was super reserved and hardly said anything. One day something clicked and she started being herself around me and now, whenever it’s just her and me and other people she knows she’s bubbly and loud. #2 is super sarcastic around people she’s familiar with. Basically, even…[Read more]

I think the first one is smoother, but it slows things down. If you’re going for a chaotic feel, I think the second one is better.

Hey Beth! It’s nice to meet you! I haven’t read books from either of those authors but I’ll check them out. What’s it like being the youngest?

Hey everyone! I’m working on a story set in Miami FL in the early 60s and am trying to find out about how the foster care system worked back then but the Internet isn’t being helpful. If anyone knows about it I’d really appreciate your help! Specifically how long it took house parents to get approved 🙂

I haven’t yet! My mom and I are dying to see it but didn’t get the chance to see it in theaters and of course Redbox is off limits right now.
I’m so glad it helped you!

I enjoy reading Jeremiah (especially the first chapter) and Acts a lot. job is pretty interesting, too (I’m serious!). Like you said, it’s hard to pick one or even a few!
Can’t wait to check those out!
I’m working on a story (not sure how long it’s going to be yet – I’m still developing the plot) about a 15 year old girl who immigrates from…[Read more]

His last name is Graham 🙂
We’re flying into Johannesburg, then driving down to a little town near Durban (where we’ll spend most of the time). We’ll spend one of the days in Durban and go on safari in Kruger for the last couple of days. I’m super excited!

For example, a lot of people say that all sin is equal and none is worse than the others, but no there is nothing in the Bible to back it up. True, all sin has the consequence of hell (unless one is saved), but God certainly views some sins as worse than others (Proverbs 6:16-19, Luke 12:47-48; also evident throughout the Mosaic law).
Right now…[Read more]

Hey Claire and Eitan! I like debunking ideas that the Christian community has accepted but don’t match up with the Bible, although I enjoy any sort of intellectual argument. I mostly spar in my Sunday school class (it’s super discussion based) and with other teens in my youth group. I’m fifteen. 🙂

Hey everyone!
My name is Emily. I was super excited when I found this website – I didn’t know a community of young Christian authors like this existed! I love reading just about everything (historical fiction is my favorite though) and write mostly historical fiction, not that I’ve written that much.
My favorite books are probably Running for my…[Read more]

So cool that you’re from South Africa! One of my best friends is from South Africa, too – his parents are missionaries there and he’s finishing up high school here in the US. I’m going on a missions trip to SA soon (it was supposed to be next month but it got postponed because of the virus)! Ek leer Afrikaans, maar ek praat ‘n bietjie.
So happy…[Read more]
