Cool, I hope it sparked some new ideas.
Yeah, that movie had some fantastic visuals. I’d recommend it.
What’s it like in the mountains?
The climate is very dry year round. The major cities are pretty similar to any other I suppose, but if you’re crazy enough to live up in the mountains, it’s an experience.Here’s a pic I took just this mor…[Read more]

You’re good. I hope you had a good trip!
(And yes, detonators were what I was thinking too.)
~~~~
Solstice crouched atop one of the large generators and stuck the magnetic detonator to the metal surface. She jumped to the next generators and attached several more of the small bombs to them.
“All ready up here,” she called softly down to Goane…[Read more]
So so so sryyyy I took way too long! I’ve been on a trip XD
Goane carefully pried open the vent and peered out. No droids.
He climbed out and helped Solstice down.
The two looked around the room, then met each other’s eyes.
Solstice nodded, and she tossed him a detonator (is that the right thing? XD). -
I haven’t seen the movie but it looks like it’s got a great aesthetic and fascinating concept! Thank you for the advice, I like researching excessively but when it comes to si-fi concepts it does end up like a magic system. This baby’s been in deep-storage for years waiting for a good plot to go with it.
I love the steampunk idea, I’d been startin…[Read more] -
Have you seen upside-down?
Trailer:
Pretty interesting movie. They solve the gravity problem — twice. Of course, by “solve” I mean in sci-fi plot terms. I guess from a writing perspective it’s a lot like a magic system in fantasy – as long as you establish clear rules for what it can do and its li…[Read more]
Good points! I guess there’ll have to be a lot more ‘science’ to the undertaking and a whole new facet of aerodynamics to meet. Forward propulsion is a definite problem there, thanks for catching that! It might be fixed with engines in some cases but it’d always be either fighting or in harmony with gravity pull. And finding the right points…[Read more]
Hello there XD
I just saw the topic title and decided I’d pop in. I’m also as SW nerd. Like nerd to the max maybe. I also have a fanfiction and it’s been so much fun doing research for it on Wookiepedia lol
Well from what I know which is little, gravity pulls. When two gravitational fields meet, you get the hover ability. The catch is forward movement. To “surf” on the border of the two gravity fields, there must be continued movement of some fashion or the surfer will become stranded. Another problem is there would be no safe…[Read more] -
(Sorry it took a while)
(switching perspectives)
Rookie dodged several shots and leapt over the make-shift barricade that everyone was hiding behind. With the number of gunners they had now, they were just barely keeping the droids at bay. Wave after wave of battle droids pounded their forces, and they were weakening.
“Our distraction won’t las…[Read more]
@winter_rose I also like My Little Pony, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Lord of the Rings, The Eagle of the Ninth Chronicles. And yeah, I’m really trying to make my character likeable and someone audiences can relate to and root for. I’m also super protective and want to take care of my clone troopers!
Bo’ glanced at the king. He was having trouble keeping up, but the three knew they all had to hurry in order to reach the ship before the separatists found it.
As they hurried they were careful to dodge droids and wolf people. They couldn’t compromise this any more than they had to.
A nearby explosion sounded, the king jumped and Gryphon…[Read more] -
Here’s my perspective on that question:Episode IX was a cool movie. It had visual appeal, great acting, a complex plot, and emotional intensity.
But it had a really high standard to reach for, and some just don’t think it got there.
I think one problem was that the makers lost Carrie Fisher and had to do a lot of rewriting. I don…[Read more]
What’s everyone’s opinion on Episode IX? I’ve heard about half and half; some saying it’s fabulous and others saying it fell flat. Thoughts?
Greetings, fellow Star Wars nerd!
Heh, heh, (nervous laughter) Self-inserts aren’t all cringy! (I mostly say this because my current fan fic’s MC started out as a self insert…) I’ve tried to develop her apart from my own personality, so hopefully she’s acceptable as her own character. And it’s a fan fic, so it’s not like anyone’s…[Read more]
Greetings, all you wonderful nerds!
In case you can’t tell, I’m into Star Wars, more specifically The Clone Wars. Currently writing, or trying to, a Clone Wars fanfic with a self insert. I know that self inserts are cringy and I stear clear of them generally, but I just couldn’t bear to be left out this time! I also love Transformers, Star Trek,…[Read more]
The air was stale and suffocating. Solstice squirmed, trying to get in a more comfortable position. Even with her small stature the shaft was cramped. Goane must have had it even worse than her, but he made little complaint.
“Where are we going?” Solstice asked him.
“The energy source,” Goane grunted. “If I’m right, it should be pretty clos…[Read more]
